Really, it's like I'm watching Fox News or one of those Leno-y ESPN sports debate shows. The same circular arguments over and over.
*Thursday Headliner *Ironic pop music headliner *Memes that were shunned by the ass of the internet years ago
This board is good for digging up speculation, nothing more. I hope you all die while jacking off to the Tron Legacy soundtrack and smoking a tallywhacker.

Haha no one likes the Tron Legacy soundtrack.
I kinda like it, as a movie soundtrack. But I get your point. It's not like anyone on here is losing their shit over it.
True Grit is going to be amazing. Its really neat to see it as a darker western than the original. The one with John Wayne was a tad bit more light-hearted and had some comic relief to it.
What? You think he's billed too high? You ever hear of Devil Went Down To Georgia?
Having a classic song to your name does not a legend make. Take a look at Charlie Daniel's tour dates page: www.charliedaniels.com/tour.htm
I mean, anybody who can rock a county fair once a week should DEFINITELY be in the top 25 bands at one of the world's premier music festivals, right? Headlining the Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, WI is about the same as playing a major spot at Bonnaroo, I guess.
Some people on this board need a reality check. Charlie Daniels Band had one good novelty song that became a hit. He certainly wouldn't be the "country legend act" billed high on the roster.
He had a 20 year career, tons of singles and is a inducted member of the Grand Ole Opry. Maybe up there in Yankeeland they only play the one song and that is why you are confused.
I saw Charlie Daniels a few years ago at the riverfront 4th of July show in Nashville. It was free, but it was still a complete waste of time and money. It probably doesn't help that I was almost arrested during the show for flipping off a cop. In my defense he was being an a$$hole.

Again, when I see someone that plays sh*tty casino venues, country fairs and church swap meets almost exclusively, I don't normally pencil them in for a spot at Bonnaroo, let alone place them in any discussion involving headliners.
Whatever success Charlie Daniels had, it's well in the past. Reality intrudes.
He came out for four songs with Panic at the Ryman earlier this year. He plays with the Grand Ole Opry etc.... It is not like he is street performer or anything.

If U2 plays do they bring the 360 stage to the farm? They travel with three stage rigs, takes 3 1/2 days to break it down. The Nashville show is the only north American show that's sold out for next year.

I doubt that IF they came they would bring that rig. I seem to remember it is on something like 80 semis. I bet just hauling them to California and back is a million dollar proposition at least.

they travel with 3 claw rigs...120 total trucks...each rig is a full stage. So as one is being taken down, another is being erected. They could work that part of the West coast with 2 of the rigs and the 3rd could be in place for Roo. Or, they just play the main stage.

Its pretty safe to assume they wouldn't bring it. The scheduling alone makes in implausible, which could play into a Daft Punk What late night. With U2 having "minimal" stage setup there is more time for a late night What set up. Pure speculation here of course.
Also, Charlie Daniels could very conceivably be at Roo, he is a highly respected musician with a large catalog, and the so called "novelty" success plays as a better draw for a festival crowd, you can't put too much stock in the venues he is currently playing. I can't say for sure that he would be the top billed country act, but I am surprised he hasn't been there yet.
