That's fine. We'll have to agree to disagree then and let things play out. Maybe I'm in the minority around here in caring more about artists that have confirmed their participation in forums that we can all verify (and for the related discussion) instead of alleged conversations between board members and bands, their friends with connections or eavesdropped public transit conversations. I'm a lifelong holder of minority opinions so it would be neither the first nor the last time if that turns out to be the case.

You're misunderstanding me. I care about that and will post that as a confirmation if it happens. That's why the conversations are rumors (although I don't know why someone would lie about innane bands like Cold War Kids and Felice Brothers for instance) and we don't have any confirmations yet.
I guess I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to imply that you didn't care about that and I don't doubt that the vast majority of folks that come here to share their info are of honest intent.
My point is that sometimes people just want to talk about what would be cool if it happened, sometimes people talk about what they have reason to expect to happen and sometimes people want to respond to what looks like it is happening. I think that they're all separate conversations to me and I care about them in the reverse of that order.

This is what the speculation thread is for. Discussing bands who could be there, and have conversation about it

it doesnt really 'muddy the water' hes listing what the 'source' is. its up to the individual person on how they want to take that source. its a good tool to use to see who might be there. theres actually some factual base to it, unlike the speculation thread, which is just speculation.

I am pretty sure it was asked, nicely, to stop talking about about baseball, several times.
There were only 2 posts which referenced baseball in that thread after you posted that request, and each post was essentially ignored. It's as if you gave the thread one last chance to shape up, and the board was still punished despite shaping up.

Fair enough. It wasn't really a "punishment," but the timing of the lock was arbitrary considering the fact that the thread was no longer "out of control."

I think it still beats the hell out of undermodded boards like PT. As far as I know threads only get locked for being redundant or off topic, or in the wrong forum. What got locked that upset you so badly?
I'm not upset. I was just giving you an opinion of my observaton. 65% of threads on this board have (in before the lock written) in the first 4 pages. just an observation. I like this board ...but its too modded IMO.
I am very disappointed in the moderators I have yet to get a single reply as to the fate of the thread, Why do you ignore me?
I am not sure why you would expect a private response after publicly making a thread to call them out. roofanintn seems to have answered your original question.

Its not like the thread has been banished to the abyss. You can still access it if you want to look at previous posts, you just can't add anything to it. Put your new thoughts/ideas into the new one.

The board is actually undermodded. The problem is that what little moderation is done only serves to appease those within the hillbilly circle of trust and to settle personal vendettas, not to actually improve the content of the board.
So the Miami Heat are on quite the winning streak these last couple weeks. I'm a Celtics fan, but I would like to see Labron win one. Discuss.

Which is completely unnecessary because the other thread had gotten back on track before it was locked.
Then reference the other thread if you need to. I am pretty sure it was locked and not completely removed. There was nothing of any real substance there, just ramble. The discussions are cool and serve a purpose, but we haven't lost anything of meaning by having the thread locked and starting a new one. There is no reason we can't just continue in the new thread. Anything of real relevance should be in the Rumors and Quasi Confirmations thread.
