What kind of response have you gotten for this NoD?
I'm afraid being tucked away in the arcade, it isn't getting the same attention it got last year. Might should do a little advertising in the troo, or at least send some pm's to those you think may be interested.
I don't really think their is a good way to do judges for this, voting seems to be the best way to do it, although it presents a few problems as well. If you are conducting this could you void votes that come from accounts created after the deadline? I know it may not show up in the polls themselves, but I would still support it as a way of keeping the voting as fair as possible. Also if you announced you were doing that, it would most likely discourage people from creating false accounts.

I don't know if you can go in and delete them, but if you can see who voted for what, you could then remove their votes from the tally and just announce it in the given thread.
didn't know this was starting so soon. saw this last year and thought about doing it this year, but i don't know comp programs well enough to make it attractive, plus with less than a week to do it. if you need judges, i'm down. i don't know anybody else on the board personally and i call it as i see it
You guys mind if I'd extend this another week or two, I've gotten one poster so far.
Well, mine is done, but I want to do some touch-up work before I send it in. Either way, I'll have something in by Monday.
I like the idea of a panel with maybe 5-7 non-participating, regular board members as judges. But I think if we go that route, we should send our posters to nodepression and have him send them to the judges, so the posters remain anonymous.

I think you should do away with the 80 band and 3 day limits. That cuts down on a huge part of the creativity aspect. How many festivals out there have the exact same amount of artist as another festival? If I were to host a festival I would do it like 10KLF where they had 4 days and 4 headliners and I would have it like All Good where no bands play at the same time.

That's one of my favorite things about this year, not going to change that. I think it only makes things easier to judge based on the lineup and creativity of the poster.
Count me in, hopefully I'll have time to throw something together Before the 31st. Thanks for putting this up in the Tr00 music lounge btw. I never would have known about it otherwise.
You should have 80 artists total playing your festival. Whether this is Comedy, Spoken Word, Music, or something else. No more then 80, no less then 80.
Also, NoD, quick question - if you have the same artist doing two different things, that counts as two separate acts, right? I'm not talking about having the same band perform twice like Phish in 2009; more like in 2008 with Les Claypool's solo set and his "Electric Apricot: Quest For Festeroo" talkback counting as two separate things.
Yep, two separate acts. Also, if they play two different sets like Phish in 09, that would count as two separate things as acts.
Can I split hairs on the comedy/spoken word acts in relation to double appearances and the eighty-act limit? Comedy acts regularly play multiple shows and/or days of a festival without being billed as such. One would be hard-pressed to look at past Bonnaroo schedules and find an instance of a comedy act playing a single set. I think, as such, it should be fair game to schedule a listed comedian for two performances when it comes down to it in later rounds when schedules need to be included. Semi-related, since we had CoCo this past year... how would an MC be counted?

(never thought I would say this but...) I agree with you.
It was a little out of control last year, one entry would have 40 bands and the next entry would have 140 bands. For all intensive purposes of this game I think the band limit is a solid idea. However, I do think that is someone wants to have less than 80 bands that that is their prerogative.

When it comes to making the schedule, you can have more than one comedian performance, but no more than 3.
MC counts as one act, but will of course be on the stage all day.

What about dj's? At Bonnaroo several DJ's played multiple sets on the Lunar Stage/Silent Disco. Those only count as one act in the event that I schedule them for multiple sets in my "Dance Tent", right?
