Just a heads up for some. A friend booked our condo and they just checked to buy their tickets at the early bird price and they are SOLD OUT. I think they went with meyer but not real sure.
So double check if you hear anything from the rental companies that they actually have some.

I figured the realty companies had a ton of tickets. I booked my condo through Kaiser several weeks ago and they called me last week completely unsolicited just to ask if I needed any tickets.

Meyers have the "we done sold out" message on their site now. I bought my tickets when I thought we were staying with a buddy's mother. Then I found out that his mother lives 30 minutes away. Designated drivers are a great way to ruin a festival for at least one person.

You all who are going will have a great time. last year was so much fun. I just hope it doesn't get too crowded. Last year was perfect and I think they estimated 15k. They were expecting 35k. That place would be impossible with that many people.
We are still debating on going. It's a week before Summer Camp so most signs point to a no for me and the lady.

It makes sense. If they're playing it at Sasquatch and in Atlanta two nights earlier, I guess it follows that they would do it on the beach, too. Maybe it wasn't in the initial announcement because it's not as big of a deal as them playing Dark Side?
Don't count on the Soft Bulletin at Hangout. Ray Suen (from Mariachi El Bronx) plays The Soft Bulletin with the Flaming Lips and he was asked if he'll join them to play it at Hangout since his band will also be there. He said that they are not going to play the whole thing but he'll probably join them for a song or two.

i asked him about both hangout and the atl show and that's the answer he gave. but they are listing the atl show as a soft bulletin show. i guess he was just answering the hangout part of the question.
New to Hangout Music Fest. Can anyone tell me where on the beach it is? I know many condos are sold out, but what is the closest one, so I can gauge the distance of all the others.

It's right on the beach in Gulf Shores. If you do a search for Gulf Shores through one of the reality sites, it should give you a decent list. If you want to compare where it is in relation to a condo on google maps, the key search term is "the hangout".
there are condo after condo available walking distance. we just got ours 4 days ago. 1 bedroom condo three highrises away for 99 a night.
i wouldnt go thru any reality company. with a little web ability you can compare site like vrbo.com (central gulf shores area) and google maps and find a great deal. there are soooo many condos sitting empty w owners dieing to rent. last year and this years owners dont even know about the festival. they live in some other states and visit themselves a couple times a year.
vrbo.com i use them for every vacation. never hotels. if this becomes a solid fest for years i'm sure it will be harder to get such great deals.
