I noticed on the Bonnaroo facebook page that they posted a picture of the farm and arch with covered in a little bit of snow, it is a cool picture if you have yet to see it then forsure check it out. Im just overly curious on when they paint the arch and fountain due to this picture because the arch looks to be painted nothing like it looked this summer and i was under the impression that they did it in april or may. maybe this picture isnt actually from this year but none-the-less it arose curiosity.
I don't know about the arch, but they paint the fountain RIGHT before the festival. In 2007 we got there extra early and had some time to explore the site before it was filled with 80k people. Anyway, we got to the fountain and watched a few guys scramble to put the finishing touches on.
This was the one with the black and white checkers, my personal favorite fountain design. I didn't get a chance to stop in early the past three years (I actually couldn't attend last year) but I know in '07 it was literally about 6-8 hours before they started letting people in.

Yup....but also remember that in 2008 they didn't paint it at all. (though did paint it in 2009 and again in 2010). They usually try to wrap it up by Thu morning, though fall behind sometimes. Looks like a lot of work to me :-)

I do believe they painted it in 2008 to have less of the checkers from 2007 and added some bugs or something on the actual column of the fountain
