I'm predicting that we'll see this duo as a cafe act this year.
Saw them back in October having never heard a thing about them, and was completely blown away by the power of their vocals. Could possibly have the best harmonies I've ever heard in my life.
Joy Williams reminds me of Allison Krauss and is a delight on the stage.
Their Debut drops Feb. 1 and I can't wait to pick it up.
They are from my city, They sold out 2 shows here very quick at a small venue(like they are at most venues), I'll ask them if they are playing later this month when i see them at a Record store show.

They do sound similar.
I was really into the single by Civil Wars until the girl started with the children's prayer. Still a good group. I assumed they would be at Roo with all the success.
Here are some videos i shot of them playing at a local record store last year. They had their CD Release show here (Florence, AL) in a Sold out 150 seat theater, then sold out the 700 seat theater twice.

I just started listening to them and fell in love with their powerful sound. I'm excited to see them.
I know it's easy to say this about a lot of bands, but seeing them live takes it to a whole other level. It is a great album, but the live show is minimilistically spectacular.

Yeah. I'm not really into the album, but when I saw them perform on the Americana Music Awards I enjoyed it. I like the girls dancing. Reminds me of the Townes Van Zandt lyric, "She's got arms just like two rattlesnakes, legs just like a willow in the breeze"
I've met John Paul and Joy Williams twice (my ex was absolutely obsessed with their live shows and they played Birmingham once ever few months for a few years). They're both super down to earth. i'll see them just to hear the banter between them in between songs. their chemistry together is pretty catchy.
i think everyone is predicting these guys too low on the mocks. They are a lot higher on Sasquatch then I expected. It's going to be interesting to see where they end up and if they can pull a crowd on such a big stage.
