Zappa plays Zappa is also being tossed around on PT, but really so far the only thing I trust is the dates and that Phish will be there. The guy who is saying this confirmed Telluride, no summer fest, and most of the Summer tour last year along with Halloween.

Zappa plays Zappa...fuck yeah saw them at Rothbury in 08 and Summer Camp last year and they are the shit. This guy who is "confirming" sounds legit to, just hoping Rothbury doesnt return the same dates or I will have a problem
Many historians claimed that the Watkins Glen event was the largest gathering of people in the history of the United States. In essence, that meant that on July 28, one out of every 350 people living in America at the time was listening to the sounds of rock at the New York state racetrack. Considering that most of those who attended the event hailed from the Northeast, and that the average age of those present was approximately seventeen to twenty-four, close to one out of every three young people from Boston to New York was at the festival
I think I'll end up there as long as Rothbury (if it even happens) doesn't conflict with the dates. I'm skipping All Good this year so it is a definite possibility.

On the topic of All Good idk if anyone else has seen this but the county it is in is trying to pass some new ordinance but I'm not really sure what it will mean for the festival, but reading it things didnt sound good. Seems like they want to make more money from the fest but I'm not really sure what this will mean for All Good.

According to that, the festival would have to charge 6 bucks per person extra. I am willing to pay 6 more dollars on an Allgood ticket to cover that.
I know Coffee County already has one of these and everyone already pays a little extra on the ticket to cover it. That started in 04 or 05 I think.

^ That makes me feel better that All Good is safe...I never know what stuff like that really means so thanks ;D
i will be in the middle of my AT thru-hike when this is going down. if anyone wants to coordinate giving me a ride from PA, which is where my itinerary puts me on these dates, i will definitely say this is where i want to be more than anywhere else this summer in terms of fests.
I'll most likely be going, and that would make me drive strait thru PA. You can definitely hop on the bus. Plus I'm trying to hike the AT in a few years so I could use the advice.

don't know how legit this is but I found it on PT:
Ever since the Indy races where canceled at Watkins Glen for the 4th of July weekend rumors have been flying that Phish is looking to book a festival at the race track in upstate NY.
After a relatively low turnout at Festival 8 on the west coast in 2009 Phish is looking to bring the fest back to the northeast in 2011.
What better place to do it than Watkins Glen race track? The venue is known for it’s ability to handle large crowds.
Sources close to us at the track in Watkins Glen have reported Phish has signed a contract for Phish Festival 9 July 4th weekend in 2011.
Tickets will $200 for the entire weekend. There will be 8 sets total happening on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Load in and camping will be allowed on Thursday. Re-entry will be allowed to racetrack throughout the weekend. This will be a Phish festival with no other bands!!!!
THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED & CONTRACT HAS BEEN SIGNED!!!!
We don’t currently have any information on when tickets will be available but we will let you know as soon as we have more information.
I never usually do. Sometimes I browse the first page or two of the message boards. I'm not a poster there but sometimes look to see for any updates about festivals Phish might be playing.
8 sets, this is going to be a blast!! I wonder how big this will end up being, honestly it is getting my spidey sense tingling as the place to be this summer. 200 dollars is the ticket price I am hearing get thrown around.
Nodepression it is only 150 miles from your place......

Hope to make it. The birth of my daughter on 10/14/09 prevented me from getting out to Indio. I've tried to hit most of the big ones since then (Hampton, Red Rocks, MSG, NYE09 and 10, 4th of July, Atlantic City), plus a slew of others. 8 was out of my control, but I told myself I wouldn't miss the next Halloween or festival.
One thing about the third iteration of Phish is that the big shows deliver on a big level. Both New Years, Both Halloweens and 4th of July were fantastic runs. I would surely have a difficult time sitting at home through the next fest.
I'm also anxious to see where they will play this summer. If the fest is on the 4th, that means summer tournwill likely wind it's way through the south at a time very near ROO, which may be a problem for me financially. As I see it, the south needs at least another 4 day run. Alpharetta is an obvious choice and a few places in the south are way way overdue (Nashville, Memphis, Birmingham, New Orleans).
Yeah I have been going light (for me) on Phish in 3.0 I am really glad I made it to 4th of July last year those shows were off the hook. The only thing for me is it may be this or AllGood.
