I love spending a lot of time in centeroo. You just need to make sure you have everything you'll need when heading in.

Indeed. I spend a lot of time packing and repacking my Centeroo bag...It has to hold essentials + still be light enough to dance with. I see people bringing big backpacks in, but I'd never be comfortable carting those things around alllll day.
Question. Whats the best centeroo bag a guy could use? I just used one of those pull-string bags last year that worked pretty well. But i was thinking about using my discgolf bag this year.
In 2006 I realized that I could crash for a few hours in the movie tent late night after the music. There weren't really a lot of people and there were some empty couches and air conditioning. It was great. I started doing this every night. Basically the only time I would go back to my camp site was form like 7 a.m. when i'd leave centeroo until about 12 or 1 p.m. when I would head back into centeroo for more music.

I could probably do this challenge but afraid I might miss some fun as a result of it. It will be like scaling Everest. I already spend a lot of time there everyday. And everything could be reasonably backpacked. But at the same time SHEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, reading through this thread, I was just going to mention that. I can't sleep once the sun comes up, so I usually get to Centeroo very early in the morning. I generally hang out in the Cinema Tent, because that's all that's going on at that hour. I usually see a bunch of people sleeping on the couches, enjoying the A/C. It's pretty empty at that time of the morning.
Also, if anyone tries this, be aware that the food vendors shut down at some point and don't reopen until later. It's annoying to be hungry and not have any of the vendors open yet.

This seems like the best idea ever... I am thinking you should delete this post or it'll be getting harder to get a spot this year
I slept twice in the Cinema in '09. First night was around 3 AM was woken up at 7 and told I couldn't sleep anymore because people were coming in. Second night after Oakenfold around 5:30 AM I crashed with barely anyone in there and was woken up at 10 AM with a plate of biscuits and some orange juice, GOOD TIMES!
Oh, and everyone keeps mentioning all the fun out in camp, but aside from the people I went with I havent really met anyone to have fun with, and I was very open to my neighbors with beer pong, wiffle ball, frisbee. Maybe it's because I'm in the rv area? Or have I just been surrounded by douches? lol
mikey5540, it's always a crap shoot. For the most part, I've been lucky enough to camp by great neighbors every year I've been at 'roo. We've hung out at camp, hung out in Centeroo, etc. On the other hand, I've read horror stories about awful neighbors on here.

i want to sneak out to manchester one night a week for an entire year and start digging/building myself an underground house right in the middle of centeroo. make the entrance a porta-john that is always in use, which is actually a ladder climbing down into the lair.
this is gonna be my 3rd roo and both times I've had just unfriendly neighbors. It sucks cuz I hear from other ppl how awesome it is to hangout with tons of random ppl in the camps and I'm all about that, I've just never seen it.

The people I was with and myself would offer them food if we were cooking, to play beer pong, flip cup, frisbee, wiffle ball, pretty much anything we were doing we'd walk around asking ppl if they wanted to join and we always got no's. Some in a nice way, but a lot of ppl would look at me like I was asking them for a kidney.
I had neighbors this last year on one side who were very rude (same as above, I would try to talk, etc., they looked at me like I was a crazy person) and they left trash everywhere. However, my neighbors on the other side of me were awesome and we had a great time hanging out with them. We still stay in touch and are planning on camping together this year.
I am definitely going to spend more time in Centeroo this year. I feel I was going back and forth between camp too often. The Cinema Tent idea is genius.

sorry to hear that.
hope that you set up shop next to much cooler ROOvians this year.
In '09 I had neighbors that didn't talk to us all weekend, then proceeded to leave their poo bags from their toilet-tent-thing on the ground after they left Sunday night. Lol.
This past year it was Sunday night before I found MMJJ and PK like 20 yards away!

I chalk a lot of that up to a northerner thing. I know it is generalizing, but it holds a lot of truth. people in the north arent accustomed to giving or receiving a friendly "how ya doin".
I would never sleep the night in Centeroo, but the fact that security was waking people up and telling them to leave is farking stupid. It clearly says on the website and in the festival guide that Centeroo is open 24 hours a day for the festival.
Yeah, I agree. My friend was sleeping on a blanket outside of lcd soundsystem's latenight while I went in to watch, in the field towards the comedy tent. Security woke him up and said "hey man, you can't sleep here." Wtf? Why not?
I think security waking people up has more to do with safety than anything else. They really do need to check to make sure people are alive or not having life threatening medical problems. They also don't want people getting stepped on, kicked, or tripping over other people as people do get hurt that way.
