Okay, Gary didn't come out and make it clear that we are for sure looking for a female, right? I'm throwing in another guess...
J. Mascis (from Dinosaur Jr.) *He is American (red+blue+white) *He is touring solo this year... *'young palette'...people used to compare his voice to N. Young's when Dinosaur Jr. first came out *Also, on Palette (getting creative..) his signature Jazzmaster guitar is a sparkly purple (red+blue+white)
*'Disguised among giants' could also refer to the fact that his awesome guitar playing is very much lost or disguised ...like people forget how awesome he really is.

I'm assuming that if Jenny Lewis was on the farm, it would be as Jenny and Johnny. Which means even though Jenny could fit the first half of the clue, we would need Johnathan to fit the second half, and I haven't been able to find any way to do that.
maybe i missed something in all this mess...how do we know it's redhead please (so i don't have to reread again, thanx!)
Edit - I just don't see how we have confirmed it a redhead, so if I missed it please inform me?
I don't think it was confirmed. I'm not sure why everyone's so gung ho about it being a redhead. I think there's some significance to the fact that Red, White, and Blue are all capitalized, but no one seems to be thinking that way.

im gonna toss out Patrick Wolf once again:
his first album was called "Lycanthropy" which means to transform into a wolf, ie a werewolf. if one is a werewolf, he is a wolf (heathen) "disguised" as a person (giant), until the full moon. he wears a lot of make-up too. still workin on the ten i see thing, but check out this picture for red, white and blue:
EDIT: i found a video for Ten I see...bit of a stretch I know but what the hell

Turtle Island Quartet? "Turtle Island" is from a Native American mythological name for the North American continent (Red, White and Blue). Native American mythology would fit in with "heathen." They've done compositions and arrangements of the "giants" in music, Bach, Brubeck, Hendrix, Clapton, etc. Ten I see = Turtle Island String Quartet? Oh, their violist, Jeremy Kittel, is a ginger. Yeah, big stretch. (It is a popular myth sea turtle hatchlings need a full moon to find the water .)
