I honestly think sometimes I go for the Magic Hat #9. it doesnt taste like that anywhere else. maybe its the heat stroke. maybe its the dehydration. but i swear even the viscosity of it is better at bonnaroo. i can drink them like capri suns.
in the span of every bonnaroo, i spend probably 200 dollars on magic hat #9 alone.
i feel sorry for people who think that 420 poo is good beer.
For IPA's, Starr Hill's Northern Lights was really good. The Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan Ale was also another one of my faves. Magic Hat #9. One of my faves also, i don't know about the viscosity but that hoppy bitterness with a citrus twist just does well after being in the sun for awhile. The Broo'ers Festivalt is great. Shade from the hot sun, and a good quality beer with my friends. Definitely a stop at every Bonnaroo.
Btw, anybody who goes to the Broo'er tent and gets a budweiser. Come on, you're better than that. Fork over the extra dollar and try the variety of craft brews there. There's alot to enjoy.

Wrong board perhaps, but no need for that so soon in the thread. So please...
Besides, he's got a good point, and it's referring to the almighty nectar. I'd have to agree with you OP, Magic Hat #9 is a good beer. I've been on a big IPA run lately and have drank way too many Yards IPAs. I rarely have enough money for the beer at Bonnaroo though, so I usually stick to the cheaper stuff from Wal-Mart ;D
Really? I thought everybody tried the bud at Roo? The beer was good also. I agree, a great variety. We all will have our favorite, I like the SweetWaters. Don't remember having a #9, but I will this year.
#9 is good stuff. Maybe because I had a very comfortable seat near the beer tent when STS9 was playing late night one year and that was my choice of beverage. What a great night, partly thanks to #9.

While I like magic hat, and love their WACKO beer that debut at Roo'09, i have since moved on... Jolly Pumpkin, 2 brothers, Three Floyds, Stone, Left hand... Current favorite is "Roland the headless" oatmeal stout from Piece Brewery.
It may be a terrible ipa but some of us enjoy it. When it comes to beer, I let my taste buds do my thinking for me. I don't really care if it's hip or whatever. "omg, yer beer is a sellout1!!!1!"
I feel like the only person in the world that thinks Magic Hat #9 is overrated.
Was much better before the brewery went into mass production and marketing. You used to be able to taste the apricot, now it just tastes like cheap hops.
