The people at the entrances to Centeroo need to be trained better before they open.
I hate having to hear that my plastic bags carrying baby wipes could be considered paraphenalia and to throw my umbrella away when the girl in the next line just walked in with one. WTF?
<edit> I also thought you could bring in empty water bottles. I was told to throw that away, too. Seems that if they want you to drink plenty of water, then they should allow a way to do so without having to buy it first.

The mist tents should be a bit more misty. It was like fighting for a spot for actual water hitting your face. But then again, the fountain solves that problem easy enough.
Have the campsite already planned out where the cars and/or RVs go, it seemed that they were making it up as they were going along, wasting a lot of valuable space.
I did see them watering down roads for the dust on saturday and sunday,
I think they do need to convert some of their vehicle entrances into Centeroo into temporary entrances during the busier times of the day and staff them well. I also think you should be able to bring in empty water bottles, if you can bring in an empty camelbak whats the problem with empty bottles?

I brought a nalgene bottle with me every single time I went to Centeroo both last year and this year and never even had anyone ask me about it, let alone try to keep me from taking it in. I also brought it in full a couple of times with no issues. Did other people have problems?
they need two seperate areas for centeroo entrance, or divide the entrance into two sections: one for people with bags, and one for people with no bags.
this is what places like disney world do, and I shouldn't have to wait for 8 people's bags to be thoroughly searched when I have absolutely nothing on me. it would be far more efficient.

The comedy tent thing needs to be re-thought somehow - maybe put them in an open sided tent.
Security into Centeroo needs to consistent - we all took water bottles in with us with no problem.
I don't see anything wrong with the food vendors - you can getgrilled cheese for $1 if you don't want to spend the money. It's no different from any other festival of concert and you have much more selections. Also the bottles of water are way cheaper than other events.
Great idea. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Tom Waits' shows are more like theatre than the average concert. I know he played the SXSW Festival in Austin years back, but I really doubt he'd be cool with a festival atmosphere today, where people can come & go as they please. His "mini-tour" last summer, was in very intimate theatres, & they (Tom Waits & his management) actually limited the sale of alcohol until a specified time at each show (except for the HOB show).

I had not problems ever with getting into Centeroo. I guess I was just lucky. I always went to the line that was moving the quickest and always had a camelback full as well as many water bottles both opened and sealed and never had a problem. I also had glowsticks and never had them taken though my friends were taken every time he went in and he would go in right after me. I guess I just had Karma on my side this year.
They need to have more water stations and porta potties in Centeroo and at What Stage. They need to make sure that getting into Centeroo is fast and easy for everybody.

Now why cant the mounties put one of those poop catchers on the back of the horse like they do for the horse drawn carriages in cities. There is not a reason that the roads have to be filled with those landmines and especially after they watered the roads the poo turned to liquid poo. That was my only gripe. I had no problems at all with traffic at all.
Were there any Inforoo people camping at Sloan Patterson? We were part of the huge commune of like 20 people about 30 feet in front of the hole in the fence. We had maybe 4 Ez Ups together and about 12 tents around the area with one HUGE green one with a red flag in front of it.

well there are so many things they could change. do more to help with the heat and the dust. maybe spread out the stages more or sell less tickets, because it was just rediculous trying to get through the crowds. also why not have the main stage open late night? it made no sense to make everyone that was over at the police move over to the which stage. there were way too many people over there. also why was the superjam in that little ass tent?

1. More shade in centeroo...plant more trees or get some huge fabric shades like waterparks have.
2. Comedy tent needs to be way bigger or open-sided.
3. Haul in some dirt & build up hills in front of all the stages...more like an amphitheater for better viewing. OR make the stages higher so people can see the acts.
4. Open up Centeroo more...80,000 people is overcrowded.
Now that they own the land they can build permanent structures and put more space between the stages.

traffic getting into roo. got there at noon, was roughly 200 yards from the turn onto ragsdale, only to be sent east on 24 to exit 127 (3 hours later) and lead through country back roads for 4 1/2 hours...just to come back to where i started in the first place. took us 8 1/2 hours total from getting in line to getting to the campsite. took me 6 1/2 hours to drive from charlotte to the roo...something's not right.
the centeroo lines at the main entrance were ridiculous. there needs to be more uniformity with searches, and they need to streamline them a bit. i used the main entrence once and waited about 20 minutes, but then used the side entrance over by the other tent every other time with no wait. there's no reason someone needs to basically do a full cavity search to let you in. check the bag quick and move on.
control the dust. 1 or 2 trips up the road with water trucks won't cut it. you might as well save the money and not do it at all. i'm still coughing up black stuff and my throat is killing me.
oh yeah, don't play rage against the machine over the main stage PA at 10 am on sunday morning to make me think something ridiculous is going on and rage is actually playing...that was a disappointing walk to centeroo.
Standard Operating Procedures. With so many temporary help employees, every worker should be crystal clear as to their responsibilities. Each work group must have standard operating procedures - it should also include potential variances and potential questions that the workers may encounter.
I definately agree w/ all the folks mentioning water stations, there were 3 I counted on the campground map that simply were not there.. that was a huuuuge downer after walking in the heat to get to one

Waiting in the line for centeroo was bad this year and it seemed like they didn't know what they were doing.
they definately didnt know what they were doing. it was either ridiculously strict going through everything or no search at all. by no search i mean nothing at all.

DEFINATELY! still have yet to see any comedians in 3 years because im not standing on a line for hours when there is so much else going on. plus people stay in for the ac.
