He's playing a festival in CO on the 11th but I could see him doing a show on Friday or Sunday... He was one of my favorite sets in 08 and it was pretty cool to see him on stage with Widespread Panic to close the festival too.

I'm sure lots of people would enjoy RRFB, but his albums have been declining in quality and he's played roo plenty in the past. He's not a bad choice by any means, but he's not very exciting either...
Yes to Robert Randolph and the Family Band. His set in '08 was terrific. It was a good way to start a lucid day. His new album "We Walk this Road" delivers another solid outing with great blues songs, r&b, and gospels. Hes got some good covers of Bob Dyland and John Lennon and "Traveling Shoes" is definitely a must.

Robert Randolph should go down in the Bonnaroo Hall of Fame!!! I have been to the festival every year except in '02 and '06, and his sets are simply the best. No show I have ever been to have matched the intensity of his late night 2004 w/ Luther Dickinson. When he played with The Word in 2005, it was awesome. No words were sung, just beautiful music. And 2008 (the Kanye Sucks Show), he brought out T-bone burnett (and did his best to bring out Robert Plant). Not to mention all his cameos with WSP and others. Robert Randolph should have a perminant roster spot every freakin' year!!!
This would be fantastic. I love RRFB, but only saw them once like 5 years ago. One of the best shows I've seen, but his tour stops keep narrowly avoiding any intersection with my own life plans. A return to roo would be the best.

def. think we will see Robert Randolph & Ben Harper both on the under card
Man, I hope you are right! Doesn't help that RR is playing somewhere else that weekend. Really though, both guys are in my B-roo hall of fame, and should never be left off the list. Ben Harper w/ Relentless 7 in '09 was sweet.
