If you are unfamiliar with Music Now here's a quick rundown. Aaron and Bryce Dressner, the guitarists for The National, are both from Cincinnati. For the past five years they have brought an eclectic array of friends/artists to perform non-traditional shows in an intimate setting. Last year was St. Vincent, Joanna Newsome, and Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. This festival encourages collaborations and for artists to try new things. I say that to say this. My friends are involved in the making of this festival and the rumors that they are telling me are BIG. I have not been cleared to say who will be attending yet but as soon as I do, I will let my fellow infroosters know. I am from Cincinnati and could help with lodging advice and other things to do around the city. If enough people come we could try to do an inforoo get together. More info coming sooooooooooooon.
what rumors have you guys heard? they've been hinting that info is coming soon for awhile. i've been to the fest a few times, always been a good experience.
2011 festival The 2011 festival will open Friday, May 13th at Memorial Hall with the return of Shara Worden (My Brightest Diamond) with ymusic. The evening will also feature the premiere of this year’s festival commission composed by Richard Reed Parry. The second concert, Saturday May 14th, (at Memorial Hall) will include a trio performances from exciting Canadian artists, Owen Pallett, Tim Hecker and Little Scream. The closing concert, featuring the National, and Sharon Van Etten will be held at Cincinnati Music Hall, Sunday, May 15th.

So unfortunately the big rumor that I heard fell through. None other than Mr. Tom Waits. Apparently they couldn't get the scheduling logistics worked out. Oh well. Still some surprises on the way. You never know who might show up considering who is already confirmed to be there.

Wow. That would have indeed been insane. Tom Waits in that kind of collaborative environment, with members of Arcade Fire and The National... I would have pooped
