Bonnaroo in Louisville... FVCK YEA!!! AC bought Forecastle! This festival was really starting to take off... I can only imagine what AC has in store for us! Dont be surprised if MMJ headlines the "Half Way to Forcastle" show this Summer. I really think AC could take this fest to the next level and pull some big time headliners. Cant wait for Forcastle 2012!
AC has been in Louisville quite a bit lately. I've read various tweets and fb posts about how much he loves the city. (And as a resident of Louisville, I must agree I was hoping it was because he was signing Wax Fang and MMJ to play Bonnaroo this year, but this news is great!! Bonnaroo in Louisville!!! Can I call it Bonnalou? lol!! So excited to see what next year brings!!
I am glad they can't siphon quality acts from AllGood anymore.
Im guessing you didnt read the article wolfman... The fest is only canceled for 2011. It will be back in 2012 and and thanks to AC bigger than ever. If you disliked Forcastle taking quality acts from Allgood you will really be disappointed starting in 2012.
If you dislike a fest because of the Police then you obviously dont go to fests for the music. Last I checked good tunes and cold brews were legal.
Hate all you want, but Forcastle will soon be one of the top 10 fests in the country.

That stinks that it's canceled this year. I planned on being kind of a festival whore myself this summer, and attending this. I wish I had gone last year.
i was hoping this would be the fest to get me through the season cause im low on funds and i wanna try something other than the roo. guess ill have to find another alternative and check this out next year!

Are you implying that if you smoke and listen to music that you don't appreciate music? And furthermore that if you drink and listen to it, that it is somehow different than smoking and listening to it?
Because if so, then that is the most narrow-minded idiotic statement I've heard on a board full of narrow-minded idiotic statements.
I don't like seeing people pulled out of the crowd and handcuffed at Widespread Panic for smoking herb. It's shitty to watch that happen to people. It also feels wrong to book all these hippie bands and then plant an entire police force in the crowd.
I'm sorry for being compassionate. But then, if you smoke, you obviously don't deserve compassion because you are a piece of dirt that gets whatever is coming to you, right?
No need to get your panties in a wad spacecowboy... if you dont like the fest dont go. I have nothing against corn. In fact I use it on a regular basis. However, when I attend a MUSIC festival my #1 priority is the MUSIC not the corn. Besides if your smart about it there are ways to smoke without getting caught. I was simply suggesting that there are legal ways to catch a buzz as well.
Why should I feel sorry for people who get busted smoking at shows? Surely they knew corn is illegal... nothing changed overnight. The fest is held in a public park... of course it will be crawling with cops.
Speaking of being narrow minded... hating a fest because of cops is as narrow minded as it gets!
"too many cops" should really never be a reason to complain at any festival--no matter the size. druqs and live music go hand-in-hand and have for a loooong time. you can expect druqs and consequently some type of law enforcement at any/every music festival. unless there is a BS camp zoe situation,, shut up, stuff your sh!t, and don't be a dumbass.
1. Smoking does not make you appreciate music less.
2. It is lame to watch people get arrested during the show for me personally. I don't like watching it happen. I really don't like watching people get pulled out of the pit, slammed, and cuffed during Widespread Panic or The Flaming Lips by a cop dressed as a tourist. I don't really think they were being dumb. Where else are you supposed to light up, the port-a-potties? They were busting people at those too. They even busted people at their campsites with dogs.
3. I can complain about whatever the fuck I want. There is no specific thing that "should really never be a reason to complain at any festival." Anyone can bitch about the heat at Bonnaroo, the wooks at AllGood, the cops at Forecastle, or the old folks in lawn chairs at Hullabalou. Whatever caused that person to enjoy the festival less is a valid complaint.
4. I don't think people get what is coming to them when they get caught. I just don't buy that. Sorry.

Wasn't this guy complaining about being narrow minded a few posts ago? "First I was all like, but now I'm like.."
I'm going to have to keep my eye on Forecastle. Seems like it has a lot of potential.

I went to this the first year it was on the waterfront, when De la Soul and Girl Talk were headliners. Most of the undercard was local or regional, and single day tickets were only $15. There were probably less than 1,000 people on the festival grounds before sundown. Crazy that it got so big....I would love to see them get a good lineup next year.
