In '09, we had a pvc pipe flag pole with a Pittsburgh Penguins flag attatched to it.. And last year we used the pvc pipe flag pole and zip-tied a life size Samuel Adams cardboard cutout to it. (It kinda looked like he was just standing on our EZ-Up toasting a beer). This worked out really well and will be doing that again this year with a Snoop Dogg cardboard cutout.
We recived quite a few compliments on the Sam Adams cutout last year, and was told by a couple of girls camping close to us that it helped them find their way back after a pretty trippy night...
i never lose my campsite, but then again i always make sure i am on a street. if the ushers dont give a crap, then just let people pass you and do some quick estimation once you are about to be parked.
This is my first Roo and unfortunately I have to leave Sunday morning- no if's and's or but's. If I tell the ushers that, will they get me on a street? I'm terrified of being boxed in.
In 09 our pod balloon popped...twice. I was mainly relying on that to find my way back, and ended up super lost. Met some really awesome people, lost my shoe in a water filled ditch, and ran around the campgrounds for about an hour. Eventually I found my way home...and it ended up being one of my favorite memories of bonnaroo.

If you have a cell phone running Droid you can download this app it allows you to store and easily return you to you're car-campsite you can also send you're camps gps location to a friend it works great!!
So, I was thinking that this year it might be fun to try to make a fun flag to mark out campsite (we've always relied on flags near our tent to find our way in previous years). But i'm having trouble figuring out how to actually go about doing it when it comes to the flagpole.
I did some googling and found sites that sell flag poles for tailgating, which I'm guessing is what I want. However, I'm confused because they seem to range from about $40 to over $100 in price... so I'm wondering what the drawback of the $40 flag pole is. Also, any thoughts on how high the pole would need to be?
