dylan's voice is obviously shot, but his stage presence/movement were there, as was the energy, seen him twice in the past few years and it's been beyond worth it both times
bummer that he quacked up on the harp solo
mumford's cave performance was AWESOME and the avetts song made me want to buy that album tomorrow
It's a great album, get it, you'll love it but the best of course is to catch them live if you can.
Glad to see 'Roo bands represented and winning but it seems like Brothers should have won album of the year and they weren't even nominated. I mean they did like beat AF for alternative album but AF won album of the year? Seems kind of strange. I guess the suits can 'splain it somehow.

It's the Grammys, there's no justification behind their decisions.
Not that Brothers should have won, it shouldn't have even been nominated for any awards (and I love The Black Keys).

as someone who doesn't currently listen to arcade fire but is probably going to my 3rd roo in a row, should I buy the suburbs or another album to help me like them as quickly as possible?

As others have said it would be best to go chronological with Funeral->Neon Bible->The Suburbs.
In my opinion, each is as good as the next one, but by going in that order you can see how they develop their emotional palette better that way. Funeral is an almost childlike album (in a good way), followed by Neon Bible which is a challenging album in which they begin questioning many of the things they used to feel, followed by the Suburbs which is sort of a coming to terms with the good and the bad.
I dont know how much cred yall give rolling stone mag but arcade fire's 'funeral' was rated the #2 album of the past decade behind radiohead's 'kid a'.. start with funeral.. but they are one if the best bands of the past 10 years in my opinion
I hated neon bible, gave up on them. im gonna start with suburbs, and go back from there
Neon Bible has some really bad production choices (waaaaay too much church organ), but the songs are good. I would give that album another chance if I were you.
To be fair, the Grammy's usually does a good job with picking Album of the Year. Since 1998, winners include Lauryn Hill, Bob Dylan, Steely Dan, O Brother Where Art Though?, OutKast, Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock and Robert Plant. Dixie Chicks, Norah Jones, Taylor Swift and U2 were the other winners this decade. It's not like they pick the Beibers and Gagas of the music world each year.

The reaction of the band members was just priceless. I don't know what was funnier, Win's face as he approached the stage, or the "What the hell..." to start his "speech." I'm so happy for them, they absolutely deserved it.
Arcade Fire's bike idea was used years ago, still thought they did OK, glad they beat out the pop bands. If they are one of the BIG headliners as rumored...HANG OUT FEST here we come!
emoney I did not see that yet. That is awesome. I was lucky enough to see them a few times and they were amazing!! They tore it up at ACL and here in Atlanta. I wish they played Roo!!! Not likely since all the boys are back with their bands.
HOLY SH!T! That was effing awesome. Win couldn't stop smiling during "Ready to Start." Best part, though? Barbra Streisand: And the winner is ... The ... The Suburbs?
Is Mr. Capps screaming for joy as he has booked some of the biggest grammy winners for his festival... AF, Em, Legend and the roots, The keys maybe even Lady A(schedule is open and could be the big country act ala ZBB last year)!!
