Everybody loves Arcade Fire but I don't get it. However I am happy for all of you who are happy for them winning but... the truth of the matter is that the Grammys still suck.
Logically thinking, I would reconsider their win being a blessing... No Doubt started winning Grammys and look what happened to them (eek!). Of the top of my head, the only band I know to win in recent years and not be affected by the corporate BS that the Grammys have become is probably Radiohead and let's face it... Radiohead is in a class all by themselves.
In short... calm down, folks. The Grammys still have a loooong way to go before we can say that they have redeemed themselves.

^^^Damn, beat me to it.
EDIT: looking through that blog re-confirms, in my mind, the irrelevance of the Grammys well beyond the redemption of a single win by AF. Consider this: they were up against Eminem, Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. So the suck rate was already at 80%. And even though, to sensible people like us, only one was a clear pick, THEY WERE STILL THE LONG SHOT.
The only good part of any of this is all the feathers it has ruffled. Nothing will change; the Grammys will always suck.
