1. Primus before Ray LaMontagne? 2. Justin Townes Earle is Friday 3. Jovanotti has been confirmed for the Gogol Bordello curated tent on Saturday 4. I not convinced like everyone else that Man Man will be in the Gogol Bordello tent 5. Naomi Shelton is Saturday 6. Twin Shadow is listing Thursday but they most likely actually are playing Thursday 7. Chiddy Bang and J. Cole are looking like Sunday because of tour dates
7. Chiddy Bang and J. Cole are looking like Sunday because of tour dates
I know J.Cole plays 6/7 in Toronto and 6/10 in Montreal, and then 6/14 in Detroit, but I don't think that precludes him playing either Thursday or Saturday. It's not more than a couple hours by plane.
For what it's worth, I think he's Thursday. They haven't tended towards a ton of day time hip hop, I don't think you'll see a whole hip-hop tent during the Fri-Sun stretch.
J Cole has a show on Saturday. So it is either Thusday or Sunday.
^ yeah, it might take that long just to set up their stage
I don't think the shpongletron is going to be as massive as everyone thinks. It is coming to the valarium. So it can't be to big. It has to fit on the stage their and I don't think the roof is that high up, way lower then any of the tents at roo. Plus Shpongle doesn't get that long of sets as festivals, ex wakarusa (this is a shpongletron set and its only an hour), moog (roo's people), etc...
Rihanna has back to back shows in Montreal Friday and Saturday, but J. Cole only has the Friday opening gig listed on his website. Maybe because he'll be in/on his way to Manchester?

It's not so much the size as the complexity that would be the problem. Last year, Deadmau5's setup didn't start working properly until he was 10-15 minutes into his set.

I think you got this down pretty good carligula, but Karen Elson, Loretta Lynn, and Wanda Jackson are spread out over three days. Does that mean Jack White will be there all weekend?
Has Jack ever appeared on stage with Karen? I would imagine he would be watching side stage at the most. Until yesterday, I assumed it would be Wanda and Loretta back to back on Friday, but Lynn has a gig in Atlanta that night.
I don't think the shpongletron is going to be as massive as everyone thinks. It is coming to the valarium. So it can't be to big. It's not so much the size as the complexity that would be the problem. Last year, Deadmau5's setup didn't start working properly until he was 10-15 minutes into his set.
This is why he is first. taking down the set should be easier then putting it together. have the act after set up behind the shpongletron. Plus the next act is not going to start when they are scheduled. hardly anyone starts on time. The next act can end when they pretty much want, they will not start on time (ala deadmau5 ) I am at least giving time inbetween shpongle and the next act. At waka, when the shpongletron end, ott is suppose to begin on the same stage.
Edit: Not easier to completly take down, but to at least move. This thing has to be small enough to fit into smaller venues like the valarium in knoxville (I still don't see it fitting in there if its as big as expected but i will know in may), orange peel in asheville,.

This seems like an odd spot for Atmosphere in terms of both genre and time. The acts that play the first two slots in the tents tend to be found in the 70s and higher on the bill.

This is my fave so far. My only bummers are missing Explosions in the sky for Plant and only being able to see an hour of the Black Keys cuz of Mumford, but obviously some conflicts are to be expected.
You know you want to put atmosphere on saturday with the rest of the rap and move beats antique to the world music.
Oh and please no ratatat-STS9 conflict. This would be the worst thing for me, I liked it better when you all were saying ratatat--> STS9. I am still convinced that STS9 will be Sat night and ratatat will be Friday. Just a feeling.
how about the fact that atmosphere closed a tent on sunday in 06, so thursday is out of the question. you know you want to put them on saturday with the rest of the rap and move beats antique somewhere else.
Sorry for the confusion. I quoted his Friday schedule and accidentally labeled it "Thursday".
Myspace has them listed for Saturday (at 5:30pm?).
yea i couldn't fit her into sat. something else has to move and i can't figure out what. i moved atmosphere into the hip hop tent. and i left a space in the first slot of the metal tent just like it was last year.
I will keep this updated with my best guesses. Put mock lineups here so we don't clog up the other pages please.

Not trying to be critical but what makes you think Mumford & Sons would get a longer set than Black Keys? Based on their Coachella stream this would make me very sad.
I'm SICK of The Black Keys conflicting with awesome bands at festivals! It seems like every time I've got to choose against them because they tour so frequently and are against rarer acts. I've already accepted missing Primus due to evening conflicts Friday, but Black Keys vs Buffalo Springfield would be a trajedy.
I'm both nervous and excited to see how long they give MMJ. I could see it being between 1.5-2.5 hours, the longer the better.

Also, I tried really hard yesterday to find last year's mock schedule thread but had a really hard time. Anyone think they could pull the link up quickly? I remember both Airline and Sang having pretty close mocks.... was just wanting to see exactly what was right / wrong
