That's what I mentioned before. The Sphongle show for Friday was probably cancelled so that they could get to their Saturday show in Fort Lauderdale from Manchester in time. That's about a 20 hour drive in itself, so I'm still thinking Sphongle is still going to be on Thursday.

LOL 20 hours? where did you get that? You are on the internet right? there is this thing called mapquest and it tells you how far. Its not even 13 and a half hours. If shpongle plays an hour set starting at 12 or 1 amd (which i bet that is all he will get and it's the set length he got at waka too) then he has plenty of time to drive to FT. Lauderdale for a reg DJ set (his show in florida is not a shpongletron so he doesnt even have to break it down right then and take it with him). People SHPONGLE WILL FRIDAY! Do not rule it out because of travel. He has plenty of time. If Jay-z could play isle of wight the night before bonnaroo then Simon can play roo and be in florida the next night.
Yeah 20 hours that's crazy. I live in Cincinnati and Mapquest says just over 17 hours from here to Ft. Lauderdale. And Cincy to Manchester is 5.5 hours. I like the idea of Shpongle being Thursday, maybe even the 1st time they use the Which Stage even though it could fit in a tent. I think the reason though they've never used any of the stages on Thursday is because there's some kind of noise clause being that it's a week day night. Shpongle will be Friday.

I love the fact that we get the fucking Shpongletron Experience, but if he is indeed canceling his Florida dates just so he can play Bonnaroo, that's a dick move.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Agreed
IDK, It could be his dream to do Bonnaroo and he finally got the chance (who knows). If I were an artist and did that to my fans I would try to make it up to them by rescheduling killer shows after Bonnaroo. Maybe he's doing that.

Agreed. You can't reschedule Bonnaroo, but you can reschedule shows in Miami.

With the ongoing debate over Black Keys/Buffalo Springfield, after all is said and done, I think this makes a lot of sense. I would possibly stagger the acts differently, but the grouping makes a lot of sense.
I get the distinct impression that Mumford and Sons is growing in popularity in leaps and bounds. I'm sure most people would take this as blasphemy, but by the time June 11th rolls around, they might need a bigger field than Buffalo Springfield.
I'm happy that Mumford & Sons have found a ton of success but I wish they were still relatively unknown. At least they write great songs, unlike one of the Bonnaroo headliners from last year.
They apparently got a pretty massive crowd last year at Lollapalooza. I had the good sense to see Freelance Whales instead. I assumed they had peaked by then.
I'd be surprised to see all the punk/metal not on Sunday -- it's been on Sunday the last two years.
It's looking like Friday this year. NOFX, Opeth and Kylesa have confirmed for Friday. My guess is The Sword will also be in the same tent. That leaves room for one more band - my guess is either Band of Skulls or Graveyard. Not exactly punk or metal but very guitar-heavy. NOFX could probably play the Which Stage during the day but I get the feeling they'll close out a tent.
The crazy thing about Mumford and Sons is how every single one of their fans knew them before every one else did.
Wish it were true for me. I'm a fan now but stupidly blew off their set from last year. I'm hoping conflicts don't make me have to do it again. They're truly original and really fucking good.

Have a bad feeling they'll be up against either the Black Keys or Buffalo Springfield. Hopefully neither though. I'll skip the BK for 'em, but man, I've never seen Neil in any form.

nkguy your latest mock is perfect for me. There are literally no conflicts and only 2 slots where I would have to split sets. Here's hoping you are right!

They could pull a solid 75-90 minute set with the first album + new material, I would think. They are doing a headlining tour now, I wouldn't expect those shows to be less than an hour, so I'm sure they can fill the time.
Yeah their album clocks in at just over 30 minutes so I doubt they will play much longer than that. On another note, it looks like BassNectar and Girl Talk will both play late Saturday. Think they will both close out tents? I hope not. I imagine (most) people who want to see one will want to see the other so why would they split them up?
But I mean it's not Bonnaroo without conflicts so who knows.
