Hey guys! I'll be in Tent Only anyway (I'm by myself, it's my first roo, and I have to leave a day early, so I'm getting there a day early which apparently means BFE, but it'll be worth the trek) and I'm hoping to get in line around 5pm on Wednesday, if not earlier. I don't know what time you guys will be there, but I'd love to be at least near Camp Inforoo. Plus I'll be around to help set-up if you guys need it!
Im new to Roo... was told to check this out if I wanted to meet and hang with people... but Ive been reading all your posts, and Im still lost as to how this all works out. I will tell you this, im driving up from south florida, and i plan on getting there by wednesday nite... and from what ive read, that wouldnt work out, right? i think i saw you say it opens Thursday, correct? Im going solo to this, and im a roo virgin, so im gonna need alot to be explained to me lol, sorry.
TO= tent only... but i have yet to see a map of the farm and where people park... cuz i read on other threads about how if you get there wednesday nite they will probably put u in POD 1 (which i dont know what that means, but from what people say its the furthest away from Centeroo and seems like no one thinks thats a good idea) where would i find a map of the grounds/farm so i know where parking and camping and TO is?
ok so im a complete idiot... hahahaha if there is any more room, i'd really like to join you all. i joined the facebook page, and it seem like we got almost 40 people that are gonna be there. is there anything i can do to help?
if the TO site opens at 7pm wednesday nite, im sure i can be there at that time to help others stake out the grounds for all of us... Im not bringing much, just one tent, and some coolers, and maybe a small grill for hotdogs.
who else can be there wednesday nite so i know who to coordinate with? and then the rest of you can look for us when you get there...
img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/travelinbeat/RooMap-3orig.jpg here's a map. zoom in to the lower right. we call that BFE where POD 1 is... they fill that up first all through wed night into thurs morning so that when VIP checks in starting thurs 8am, itll be full and their traffic can get through to the VIP area.
Tent Only opens up Wed night. It didnt used to but official opening times have changed this year and it's been confirmed it'll open at the same time. Wed night 7pm.
I'm not sure who's staying in charge of keeping everyone together/informed for setting up camp in "Camp Inforoo" in tent only, but I'm sure they can use all the help they can get, especially since they need to stake out a big piece of the TO land probably.
To camp in TO, you go wherever you're led to camp in car camping. Then you haul your stuff to the Tent Only section where cars aren't allowed, then set up there. There's no guarantee of how far you'll be in general, but if coming Wed night then you're pretty much guaranteed to be somewhere in that POD 1 area that can be a bit of a walk. bringing a wagon/dolly/rolling gear/etc can help haul gear.
hi!! i thought i was going to be camping here with inforoo but it now looks like im going to be camping with some friends in car camping...but i do still plan on being with you guys for the inforoo brunch so i'll see you all then!!
I have one more for the inforoo crew, her name is Renegade and she will literally be walking onto the farm. Since I have a VIP ticket she will have to walk in with a tarp to claim space in TO and then I will drag her stuff over after I park. Can someone PM me and let me know what the odds of her getting a space in TO on Thursday morning will be? If need be I will drop her off Wed nite with a tarp and a tent and finish the deposit Thursday morning. Any suggestions?
Ok if you are NOT listed as attending on the facebook event please do the following for me. Even if you have sent it before. Sorry I am not the most organized cat on the planet but this is the last time I promise .
Ok I know several people have already sent me this and not everyone who is going is on here. However I am trying to figure out the plan here so bear with me and send it one more time I will put it in Excel.
1 Approximately what time will you be there
2 how many in your group, and how many tents
3 Phone number
4 ezups/canopies how many how big.
I already have a preliminary number of 17. This Weds thing has really screwed with the plans so we are just going to have to do our best. I promise I will keep it organized now.
This will be my first time at Bonnaroo and, while I was originally considering a hotel, I think I would prefer to try Camp Inforoo in an attempt to meet some wonderful people that will make this trip even better!
I apologize if this has been question has been addressed, but where could I find some more information about Camp Inforoo (location, best arrival time, etc..)? Thanks a lot!

Go to page one on here and read through most of it is explained.

There are a number of us going in Wed evening it's silly for her to walk in. I'm sure whatever time you get there someone will be able to give her a ride.
Maybe when everyone's number and time of arrival is posted somewhere I can hook her up with someone going in on wed nite. Its all good, we will figure it out and before you know it we will all be easy breezy. Where in PA are you heading from?
I've been 'lurking' the blogs for awhile, soaking up info. Myself and a friend are coming for our first 'roo experience. We're both camping vets, but your threads have definitely helped me feel reasonably prepared.
We are heading in Wednesday night and would love to set up in/near camp inforoo. You guys sound like a blast. We'd love to share our shade, burners, supplies, and good times. I threw up my info on the facebook Camp inforoo site. But PM me here if you need anything else.
I saw someone mention the GroupMe ap - I've used it before for large gatherings and I agree that it would work well for your purposes. The newer version doesn't require a text plan .. it'll work over basic data.
Can't wait! Have my count down clock SET!!! Claire (and Kristi) in Arizona
for all of you who dont know... there is a mobile app out for smartphones that will help us out greatly with communicating and locating the campsite. i started another thread that might get shut down... but before it does you can check it for more info...
It also let's you GPS post ... which can easily sync to 'walking' directions into your smart phone. May make it easier for some to find the camping digs. ##excited
Yes that's why I'm trying to spam the threads with it, it's not to be annoying, it's to help out with coordinating our logistics, location and communication. So far the 6 people on it can't stop talking about it all... The excitement is building even more!! Hit me up if you need an invite... Otherwise download the GroupMe app and search for Camp Inforoo...
The thing is not everyone has a smartphone, I am not sure how much it is going to help us. That being said I will get it on my phone at some point and check it out.

Smartphones aren't required. If you have a phone that can text it will work.
A few of us are taking the same shuttle out of Nashville airport on Wednesday night. We're stopping for supplies at Murfreesboro WalMart - figuring that the one in Manchester will be overrun with crowds, price hiked, and already somewhat picked over.
There are also aps like Kik Messenger (apparently, most popular 'social' ap on iphone/androids). It allows for mass group chats.
If one superuser (say, one of the two Camp InfoRoo organizers) adds everyone into their addressbook, they can invite a large chat/sms group.
Don't believe it's limited to 25, as GroupMe appears to be; however, it isn't long term like GM, sort of a chat on the fly type thing ... which may be all that is necessary when we're trying to locate one another.
There are a lot of options that may make Camp Inforoo easier to find for the masses. May even be as easy as posting GPS coordinates via googlemaps (etc.) onto the facebook page ... and directing your followers to head yonder (with picture of campsite flag posted for reference as well?)
In the GroupMe app... at the bottom of the homepage are 3 or so advertised Groups to join... one being for BONNAROO!!!!!! there is a promotional deal or something going on that if you join under the bonnaroo one and form a group that your group could be upgraded to VIP... just throwing that out there... we already started a group, only have 10 people... so if you want to join let me know!
Heya, I'm also a roobie this year. I've been obsessively lurking inforoo for tips and tricks on how to make out the best through bonnaroo. My girlfriend and I are looking forward to meeting new people and camping near the inforoo camp. I just added the event on facebook and the groupme app. We're volunteering tollbooths this year, so we'll try to catch up with the camp when we're off work.
Hey all, this will be my third trip to the Farm ('06,'09) and hopefully my third time camping with the Inforoo folks. You guys made my solo trips in years past more enjoyable and even though I'm going with a friend this year, I still look forward hanging out with all you crazy cats. Driving from central PA and arriving in Manchester Thursday morning. I'll be looking for the flag. Safe travels everyone! - Fred
Hey guys. This is my 4th year at Roo. I'm bringing a friend. This is his first year at roo. My first year I stayed at Camp Inforoo an enjoyed it. So if there is room, I'd like to come camp with y'all. We are leaving our town till 12 am or 1. So not sure when we'll get in.
