I drove from Boston to Tennessee last year. This year I am thinking of air travel and I am looking for a little info. I am a camper now how difficult it would to get camping equipment through security i.e. tent poles with metal. Thanks in advance.

What I did was check all my equipment and my carry-on was all my clothes and valuables
FYI: if you're like me and don't like stops and plane transfers, Southwest has a non-stop flight between Providence and Nashville. Unfortunately the one down there leaves PVD at 7 am, but I'm still doing it Thursday anyway. There aren't any non-stops from Logan.
Southwest right now is also the cheapest of everything I've seen.
