I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
I've seen Girl talk away from the Farm, and he was great. But at the Farm, in that environment I'm not sure how good he can be. And some stupid chick kept knocking his speaker chord out of his laptop, so that was annoying.

I really don't know. I've heard Pretty Lights put on an amazing show but never really heard much from people who have gone to Girl Talk except it was fun.
They both seem equal in my eyes because I am not a big fan of mash-ups or PL. I would still go to PL though if I had to choose.

I've seen both on the farm, and I'd likely try to split my time between both if they end up on the same night, different stages. If I had to choose, I'd likely choose PL. The live drummer just sets it apart.

what i did last time this happened. Try to convince everyone to check out Pretty Lights with me over the more popular Girl Talk, get talked into going to Girl Talk, realize how packed it is and go see Pretty Lights. except for this year i feel like its going to be like that, but then ill get to Pretty Lights and it will be just as packed because hes blown up. Maybe Four Tet or the Twelves will be added and ill see them instead
Im about pretty lights all the way. If I wanna hear a bunch of pop tunes smashed together, I go watch the sunrise at the silent disco. Seen girl talk at the farm (instead of pretty lights) and at a theater show, and both times felt underwhelmed. Haven't seen pretty lights, but totally dig that stuff.
yeah deitch is in the "band" now. he's way better than any piece of computing hardware. PL all day, though i kinda figured ratatat would conflict with one of them. i would hope not all three would conflict.
^Deitch should play drums for Ratatat. They don't have a live drummer, do they? I know it's only 2 guys on the albums.
brilliant. yeah i'm pretty sure they use a machine. really, deitch should just drum for everyone, he can do it. playing with lettuce, break science, PL, and medeski/scofield? (to name a few) pretty sure he could handle it
It's a terrible decision to put acts like that up against each other. They should just have one after another. I'm sure a majority of the people would just stay.
For everyone judging Girl Talk: Can you do what he's doing, at that quality. Name one mashup artist even close to putting out the quality of that product he's putting out. Same with Pretty Lights.
Also, one final qualifier. If you even remotely like one song off Sigh no More, don't even bother responding because Vivendi has already tricked you into liking the next NSync/My Chemical Romance/Kings of Leon.
