Does anyone have any good recommendations for an inexpensive <$20 solar phone charger? My Samsung Moment eats up batteries and I can charge it at camp with a battery jumper with a USB connector, but it will die out in Centeroo all day. Last year I saw someone who had a solar charger on their backpack. Has anyone used one of these? Can you recommend a good one?
The one I had (Solio Mono) did not work at all. I don't know if it was defective or not. They never got back to me about warranty replacement but I can't recommend it at all yet. My advice, switch out your smartphone for a more basic phone or just go without. Now, I probably will have my iPhone on the farm but the new 4's battery kicks ass.

I just got one for Christmas but I haven't got a chance to really test it out in a Bonnaroo-like environment. I was thinking of putting it on the top of my tent/ez-up in a plastic bag to protect it from rain and then running the cable down with an extension cable.

I always try to bring another charged phone with me to the farm. I have access to outlets, so I can't speak for all you people in GA, but it can certainly help. I would charge one phone while I was out running amok, and I would just switch SIM cards. Maybe you could do the same with those solar chargers? Even if they were slow, a second phone would make it a lot easier.
