Hi, I have a question regarding camping. There are separate areas for car camping and tent only camping correct?
So I am meeting a friend at the festival. We live in different cities. I am flying since I'm further away and planned on riding the shuttle in from the Nashville airport since I remember this being really convenient.
My friend is driving north from Birmingham so it'd be easiest for him to just meet me at the festival. Do I need to arrive in the car with him in order for us to share the same camping spot? I've also heard that sometimes it takes many hours to get in. Is it possible that I will cruise right in on the shuttle and he will be in a car line for 6 hours or something?

Hi there.
There are separate areas for car and tent only camping. But you can either meet your friend wherever he is parked or he can join you in tent only. Basically, one of you will need to move your stuff to one place or the other to camp together, but other than that it won't be a problem.
You don't need to arrive in the car with him. However, the shuttle does drive directly into the festival grounds with no wait. It may be best for you to shuttle in and set up camp in tent only and have him park and meet you there... Tent only closer to centeroo, and you'll be able to set up camp while waiting for him to get in.
You can camp in either or both areas. Tent Only is closer to the festivites but camping with the vehicle allows you to have a safe place to lock valuables, you can likely have more gear w/o hauling it and might be a bit quieter (if you like that.)
My suggestion is call each other when you arrive. If one gets there later the other may want to set up camp 1st. If the car is parked way out in BFE, you may want to camp in Tent Only. If the car is close, you may decide to camp there. By calling and deciding when you arrive you can better know your options.
