Does anyone know? Ive looked all around on the forums ive read in the past they open Wednesday night others have said Wednesday morning some say not till Thursday. Does anyone know the facts?
The answer is that they will usually open late Weds night so they can clear out the Walmart parking lot. However if you go in you will be camped back in the middle of nowhere, with a 20-30 minute walk into the music everyday.
Also could a mod sticky this or something? This is the most commonly created thread on here.

If I got there about 3am do think it would still be in the back?

If you get there anytime before 8 or 9 am they are most likely going to put you in the back.
I have to agree with Jess, I feel like I answer this question at least every week.
Like Jess said, it really doesn't matter what time you get there but we usually park people in BFE on Wednesday night. Sometimes people can get lucky, but that's usually because of some sort of problem. Maybe a road towards the southeastern campgrounds gets too muddy, or a bus breaks down, but those things are typically fixed easily and rare.
Last year we got in line Wednesday night, got semi lost, took a back road, and skipped the entire line. Literally waited for under 30 mins to get in, had we taken the 'proper way' it would have easily been a 4+ hour wait.
Anyone know what that road might have been? Would be very helpful for this year.pm would be nice
We also lucked out a bit, got camped in Odd Job, which ended up not being too far of a walk.

They get muddy when it rains.
I'm joking. You'll be fine. If it rains some areas get muddy and can cause traffic back ups. That's what caused some problems last year. It's just in low areas and they fix them. It's nothing to really worry about.

Typically gates officially open around 7:00 a.m. on Thursday. The time will be announced when June gets here. If you arrive before official gate opening time and you are not in an RV, you WILL be camped in BFE.
