Okay, So I thought I'd start this one now... We are once again heading to Family Camping this year!! We had an amazing time last year & my daughter made some great friends. Any questions or concerns about Family Camping? Post here & I'll try to help you as much as possible!!
The only thing I didn't like about the camp was the location.
It probably wasn't much of an issue last year but in 09 it rained a lot on Thursday and a majority of the camp was no good due to the slope in the middle.
I mean the kids loved running down the hill into the mud but it wasn't good for mini vans.
And lets admit it there are a good amount of mini vans in the Family camp.
But we still had fun and if we bring the kids this year we'll be there. The only reason we wouldn't is because I would have to buy tickets for all of them.
I hate that Roo is the only festival that I've been to where kids under twelve need a ticket.

There was that prblem in '10!! Muddy & they only used about 1/2 of it because cars were getting stuck. But we still ended up w/ a "wicked big" area. I would love for it to be a smidgen closer, but overall, it rocked!!
If me and my husband make it the kids won't be with us this year but I always stop by the kidz tent and donate some money and art supplys.
Thos people are so great and need all of the donations they can get.
Yes ^ this^! Kidz Jam is absolutely a lifesaver! I work in a factory so I donate ear plugs for the kids. It's a great place for a cool down when you need it!!
If you would stop and notice that we number every day But allow the many moments left uncounted slip away You don't have to count them, just enjoy them one by one Then things would take a different hue and sparkle in the sun - Phish

To all of you who bring kidz: you ALL are great. I could only wish that my parents would have done stuff like this with me.. I used to be against kidz at places like bonnaroo untill last year there were alot of kidz there and while I did see some BAD parents 98%of ya were great with it. The world needs cool lttle kidz that grow up to be open minded adults. I have a 2 yr old son and when he turns 5 we are gonna bring him with I cant wait!!!

Thankyou very much. I am one of those many parents who about have it down to a science!! You are exactly right about the 98%.... I, myself only saw one family that didn't need to be there & enjoyed all my neighbors there! Another point you were "dead on" with was the raising of future open minded adults!! My 8y.o. daughter witnessed some of her 1st nudity last year & handled it better than most adults! Was a very proud moment for me to know that my kids are way less judgemental than most!!

I'm here I'm here! and I will be in family camping again this year. I am bringing two teenagers and this will be my last age appropriate time for family camp. Did I read that are you are doing a pop-up this year WooHoo? I am jealous, you won't be in the trenches with us tent folk! I will see you all on the farm!

Ok, AmeliaBedelia... Don't be shocked if you hear me yelling your name!!
actually children are not required according to Gary Chardonnay.
Unfortunately, this appears to be the case. The large majority of campsites in the area reserved for family camping didn't have any kids in them. As a result, family camping was mostly filled by adults this year, meanwhile, many families with kids had to be turned away.
