hey all, this year will be my 5th Roo and I was wondering what are some high energy foods that also taste good???
We always bring stuff like chips, cookies, goldfish crackers. This year we are looking to go alittle bit more healthy and I think it will help our energy supply for the weekend as well, also my girlfriend HATES Gatorade so any good drinks like Gatorade would be great....thanks everyone for the help and I cant wait to be on the farm with all you great people!!!!!!!!!!
Swiss Cake Rolls with a little meth sprinkled over top.
I find that the meth doesn't stay on the slick chocolate surface of my Swiss Cake Rolls. I prefer to open up an Oatmeal Cream Pie and sprinkle it inside. Little Debbie ain't got nuthin' on me...lol
Nuts, dried fruit a trail mix like concoction. Just make sure you get some protein. When it gets so hot some of us forget the protein and we pay for it. As for hating the Gatorade check out crystal light, I think they have some enhanced mixes.

Do the cliff bars taste decent ......I mean they dont have to be fantastic but i dont want to feel like Im eating a turd either. Thanks everyone for the responses they were all helpfull even the swiss rolls!!
yes. clif bars taste really good. they are just sort of a chewy consistency, but they get a lot softer when they've been out in the bonaroo sun for a few minutes.
as far as i'm concerned these are the best roo campsite food. healthy, light and individually packaged so you can put them in your pocket.
i think they all taste pretty good but they sell them individually so you can try a few out before june. hard to go wrong with chocolate chip.

I LOVE Clifs. Make sure you get a flavor you think you'll like, for they have some abstract flavors (carrot cake, apricot, spiced pumpkin pie), but I normally go with chocolate chip or peanut butter crunch. They also just cam out with Mojo bars which are more of a fruit/nut combination while still being slightly chewy (chewier than natures valley granola). I will probably picking up a few boxes from walmart beforehand since they are so cheap that way. Hope this helps!

Another cliff bar fan here. My favorite is the peanut butter crunch. I usually snack on them a bite or 2 at a time throughout the day. Trail mix is also great for energy. At bonnaroo I live off of cliff bars, trail mix, and spicy pie
What about tuna salad? There's protien in the tuna, and carbs in the pasta shells. Good combo? And it's cold, which will probably be refreshing. Also, lots fruit. I usually go with some fiber one bars. The fiber keeps you full longer.
And also, you said your girlfriend hates gatorade. I would bring a lot of smart water. It has electrolytes in it.
Balance bars are good, I eat them after I run to recover. They are high in protein, which is something you may be in need of if you're eating pizza and drinking beer all day. You can buy them in bulk on ebay for really cheap. They come in a lot of flavors, and they are absolutely delicious. Just like a candy bar, except full of nutrients. The brand is "Balance" and they are an energy bar, in case anyone was confused.

In my experience, you have to lick the swiss cake rolls before you sprinkle on the Meth.
I like those Quaker Oats Chewy Granola bars are good to me.
Cliff Bars have a LOT of different types- more so than any other health bar. My local health food store literally has over a dozen different flavors, and I'm sure there's more.
My personal favorite: White Chocolate Macademia, Carrot Cake, Blueberry Crunch.
yeah, i just had the "toffee buzz" clif bar, made with green tea and has 50 mg of caffeine...very tasty, and got me going...i have yet to have a bad clif bar

The Luna bars are very tasty but extremely messy in the heat. Clif bars and dried fruit seem like a great snack to throw in a bag. Sunflower seeds for salt, too, seems like a good option.

clif bars are great
pouch tuna is great - lots of protein, and they have good flavors... I think Starkist makes them and calls it "tuna creations" i like the spicy ones best.
If anyone is traveling through kentucky, get Mingua beef jerky. It is hands down the best jerky there is. You can't go wrong with any of their flavors (hot, mild, cajun, teriyaki) but Grippos flavor is the best. Sounds weird, but its amazing.

I live in lexington, and its in nearly every gas station and kroger (although they never have the grippos) I've been in. Its usually not with the other jerky, though. typically it is on a stand by itself near the register. Just ask the clerks. They will be able to help you out.
