I forgot about BSS. Yes they would be a great add, and I'll take them before the Hip as well.
BSS may be releasing better music than the HIP nowadays, but their live show doesn't even come close to a HIP show even if they bring Emily Haines or Feist.
I have absolutely no opinion on this matter.
The BSS show in Halifax during their BSS Presents Kevin Drew show was one of the top five concerts ive ever been to. A small crowd at the Marquee, the band was drunk but not so drunk that they didnt know what they were doing and they closed out the show with Boy Inside the Man, Shout, and Where the Streets Have No Name.
Jason Collett is another person that i thought wouldve been at Roo by now.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go on an overnight drunk, and in 10 days I'm going to set out to find the shark that ate my friend and destroy it. Anyone who wants to tag along is more than welcome.
Anyone going/gone to the final tour? We caved and bought some tickets off of Stubhub for an exorbitant price. I think it's gonna be worth every penny.
I'll be watching the broadcast of their final show in Kingston. Couldn't get the time off to see them in Edmonton. I've seen then 4-5 times when I was much younger. Such a solid band.

I've seen them probably 3-4 times and told myself I'd never have to see them again. But the chance to have a goodbye wasn't one I could pass up. Luckily there's 3 shows in Toronto so we're going to the Sunday show. There's some local bars showing the final Kingston show so I'll definitely watch it somewhere.

I saw them yesterday in London. It was one of the most emotional shows I've ever been to, mainly because about half way through it hit me that this would be the last time I'd be seeing them live. It's a surreal thing 'cause every time an artist dies or stops touring or whatever, you look back and think "Wow, I'm so happy I got to see them at such and such show", but for that moment to be happening in real-time... it's trippy. I imagine it's a lot like what people were feeling during those "final" LCD shows at Madison Square Garden, except sadder because of Gord's health.
Anyway, even though we didn't get Ahead by a Century, Wheat Kings or 50 Mission Cap, the setlist was jammed with classics and many of the lyrics took on a second meaning because of Gord's situation. I won't spoil those for you but he sounded excellent, even if he had to rely pretty heavily on the teleprompters.
Overall, Gord is a fucking champ for going through with this tour, and they all delivered big time. You won't be disappointed.

I'm looking forward to it and sort of dreading it all at once. We're going Sunday so it will be the final Toronto show and I am expecting to cry A LOT. Walking to work the other day and Fully Completely came on; I almost cried when he sings "you're gonna miss me".
Also the night before we're going to see Dwayne Gretzky do a Hip tribute show. If anyone ever gets a chance to see them (DG) they're an incredible cover band and they put on a energetic, lovely show.
