I figured you guys might want to know about this because anyone thinking about going to this festival might go to Camp Bisco as well, and this is really an easy way to get free stuff like a poster, a sweatshirt or even meet and greet with the band, backstage passes and VIP tickets to Camp Bisco--all very realistic if you do the weekly updates every week until the fest, but you would have to start now in order to get most of the good ones.
Black Moth Super Rainbow, Tobacco, Holy Ghost, DFA Records tent (AKA James Murphy and Justin Miller of LCD Soundsystem) Lotus, Ghostland Observatory are all gems in there.
this is the cream that floated up to the top for me...

I know the lineup JUST came out, but does anyone have any ideas what the DFA records and Mad Decent tents might be? Just a bunch of artists from those labels?

I like the Yeasayer, Cut Copy, Break Science with RJD2 and Holy Ghost gets, and it's making me consider going. They did a good job with the lineup this year. It really appeals to me, and I've never gone to one of the Disco Biscuits' festivals.
This lineup fucking rocks!!!! I think I'll be hitting up bisco instead of roo, considering it's way closer and the lineup is more suited to my tastes. I think the mad decent tent/dfa tent will just be a huge party with the label dj's playing.
I'm definitely trying to go to this. There is some garb, for sure, but there's alot of pretty solid acts and its only about 2 hours from my house. Hope I can get the funds.
I went for the first time last year and it is probably the best festival in the country IMO
I only live 2 hours away (so yeah that makes it a lot better already) plus it was a little cooler (temp) than every other summer fest i've been too.
Its also smaller so you can get from your camp to shows in like 5-10 minutes.
The line up this year looks awesome so far. Between bonnaroo and bisco im gonna see just about every one i could hope to see at festivals (would love a bloody beetroots/Death crew add somewhere but oh well). There should be at least 2,3 pretty good additions later and a few more acts worth checking out (in both roo and bisco). This is gonna be an awesome summer. DFA1979!!
^^^ Exactly my situation. I went last year for a few bands (Holy Fuck, Caribou and LCD mostly, Wu massacre as well, etc.) and expected to get UNTZ'd to death, but I actually had a blast. Everyone there was super super nice, even the Hell's Angels security guards who I thought were going to be choders. Not to mention the LN tent was on one side of a fence, and my tent was directly on the other side of that fence, so getting back to my camp site took about 35 seconds at the end of the night.
All in all, anyone on the fence should definitely go, despite what criticisms of TDBs fan base would lead you to believe. Are there some meth-faced creeps there? obviously. But we met a ton of super nice, friendly people, and even the creepy wooks were nice for the most part. There was some d-bags, but no more than any other festival.
Anyway, just bought my ticket today! So excited for DFA1979, and Lotus is always welcome at any festival I'm ever at. Can't get enough of those guys.

pretty sure the bikers there arent Hells Angels. none of them had anything that said that and they usually wear their vests everywhere
such an awesome atmosphere and i would go just for the biscuits, but they also gave me the one band i wanted to see their which was Yeasayer. add in DFA Tent, mstrkrft, black moth super rainbow and then look at ticket price its an easy decision to go. bassnectar/PL is slightly disappointing because they were both their last year and are playing everywhere this year but i would have been shocked if they werent on the lineup. Skrillex is a head scratcher. i dont get how someone who doesnt do anything interesting can come literally out of nowhere and all of a sudden hes booked at multiple major festivals across the country.
oh and idio its a three day fest, no music on sunday

I'm pretty sure being butt-buddies with Deadmau5 definitely helps.
