What do you do for lodging at Vegoose? And do the tickets include the late night shows located around the city?
most people stay at hotels on the strip! they had shuttles going from various strip locations to the site. some also rented condos/houses/timeshares for the week, also
and no, the price does NOT include the late night shows. if you want to go to a lot of those it could get a little pricey

I say stay off the strip, save the money and spend just a portion of that money you saved on a rental car. There is free parking all over Vegas including the strip. The festival is also 20 miles from the strip, so it's a long cab ride/shuttle ride to and from. A car gives you the oppurtunity to move around at will. To leave the festival at will. A lot of the late nights and the festival as well had shuttle and cab lines after the shows.
But if you HAVE the money and want to spend it, definitely stay at a nice Hotel on the strip. Bellagio or MGM are top tier hotels, some of the best you'll ever stay in.

for a good bargain on the strip, i would recommend the tropicana. relatively cheap and not that bad at all. it's one of the more "old school" hotels on the strip now, but it was perfect for our little inforoo group last year! right next to the MGM grand which had many late night shows, and there was a shuttle stop right out front! (although we didn't use it, i brought my car )
oh and in the second tier tower, where we stayed, they have GIANT bathtubs... which i used nightly, perfecttt.
oh and another suggestion, if you've never been to vegas, tack on a couple days at the end of the trip to just explore the city itself!

Vegoose sounds like a blast, but expensive... and I gotta say the one thing I love about a big festival is the camping and campground atmosphere. I wonder why they don't do Vegoose in a camping-possible spot - and the late night show thing is a bummer.

i like the camping at like coachella, waka, and the roo, but vegoose is a great example of a different type of festival (think sxsw) .... you see great shows in the day, and at night you see the more intimante sp albeit like you said at an addition cost ... ah but vegas, its a really fun time .. plus the first one was on halloween, and the 2nd was close, i guess this one is pushing it, but there will be a halloween atmosphere there as usual .. should try it out ... cr****

damn, my wife and i both landed on the "pair of vegoose tix" square which got us in a drawing, maybe there's something in her email. I'll cross my fingers.
We went to the first one and it was great, you just have to head out to the silverbowl early enough that you don't miss any shows in case of traffic. It is a completely different experience than Roo. Something to be said for checking out great music and then spending the time waiting for your night show in the casino of the hotel where the night show is.

So i'm debating on Vegoose....and i have a couple of questions...their website has nothing to offer as far as help...let me know if I understand this right...
You buy a plane ticket to Vegas...rent a car...stayed in a hotel on the strip and drive in and out of the venue every day?
Am I kinda right?

The vegoose site should be updating in the near future I would guess … we went both the 1st year and the 2nd and they were a bit different … the first year they used sam boyd stadium for the really big shows, and had other stages around the area … the 2nd year they didn’t use the big part of the stadium which made us all mad … all of the shows were at sam boyds except as you noted the late night shows … and most of those shows were really late, like starting at 1200 or something … and yes you do have to pay additional for the shows .. people who buy festival tickets get first shot at the seats (including most of the good ones) and then they go on sale to the general public … all of the venues are nice, some small, some big … you really don’t need to have a car if you are not going out of the area … the public busses will take you from your hotel if you are on the strip, but they can be a pain … vegoose did offer a package for 50 bucks, they have a shuttle that goes from downtown to the other venues … that seems the way to go if you are not driving there anywhere … if you have been to vegas before, you know what kind of town that is … that is something that vegoose offers that most of the other fests don’t .. you can enjoy the city on the times you are not at shows .. and yes you should go a day or two earlier or a day or two later just to play the town … it can be a bit pricey, vegoose, but we are going again and it is usually a good time had by all … there is even a shakedown street right outside of boyds to pick up goodies … fun times … cr****

Is the shakedown outside the stadium Vegoose related or there all year? Anything like Bonnaroo shakedown?
it is just right outside of the stadium (in years past anyway) .. and a lot like the roo, i bet a bunch of the people are the same "vendors" as the roo ...cr****

now that i think about it, i think it was no you couldnt ... we were parked maybe 50 feet to the entrance, and they made everyone throw away there cans and bottles there .... guess i answered my own question ... cr**** so when we wanted to really have a large one lol, we just walked out to the car, and then walked back in .. nothing like the roo in that aspect ... cr****
