So with the black and white dress codes what is everyone planning on? A friend is letting me borrow a tuxedo shirt, with glitter and sown on ruffles and a flower, then I am going to try and find some white pants, black dress shoes, and black socks.

If you're a grown-ass man and you don't own a tux, you're doing it wrong. What the hell do you do every time you go to a formal event, rent one?
I have a nice formal wear black suit and tie. Of course I don't plan on taking it to NYC for a LCD Soundystem concert. I don't have a tux, but I hate them and usually if I have to wear one it is because I am in a wedding, and I rent the same one as everyone else.

Rental tuxes disgust me. Renting a tux is like wearing someone else's used condom.
You must not use the same places I do. Also if you are Best Man at a wedding (last three tuxes I wore) you usually have to rent one so everyone matches for the pictures. Past that I think nice formal black suit is much better than a tux for almost all occasions.
