Oryx and Crake (Atlanta, GA) - Nine member band that ranges from quiet folk to epic orchestral pop. Includes custom made electronic devices. Really unique band, see them for sure.
Pujol (Nashville, TN) - Catchy pop-garage-punk.
Venice is Sinking (Athens, GA) - Atmospheric pop with a Southern streak. Equally comfortable covering Galaxie 500 and Dolly Parton.
Thanks for the suggestions guys. It will be my first festival VIP. Only $35, with food and booze included supposedly. Should be a great weekend of musical discovery. Plus, the location will make it interesting.

Anybody have any good recommendations for a place to stay that's nearby and not too expensive? I'm having trouble finding something that's walking distance and under $100/night. What's the cab situation in Birmingham like?
Nice to see the schedule out and that the music is going to be playing pretty late. Not sure about finding a room for under $100 but cabs shouldn't be hard to find. I have had to make phone calls in the past to get one to come but there will probably be plenty hanging around the festival.
The first night of Secret Stages was quite the experience. Not as heavily attended as I thought it would be. It's more like a club hopping festival with really great music playing. The VIP room does in fact have free good beer and wine. Can't wait to do it again tonight.
