its not sold out, just the three day passes are sold out. you can buy single day tickets for all 3 days but i think it sets you back an extra $15
i will be headed to chicago for the fest and might stick around and see a cubs game tickets for the game on monday are cheap (ya they suck but its always fun being in wrigley)

Yeah, I was dreading a Gogol conflict too. Nice to see there isn't one. I also wanted to see Bassnectar and Thievery, but I'll just hop back and forth and see which one grabs me, and I'll stick at that stage. As for Sound Tribe/Fatboy Slim, I have Sound Tribe late night tics, so Fatboy Slim here I come! Can't wait for Labor Day.
Gogol plays before both of them. I wish they would let gogol go as long as they wanted. depending on my party of choice, i will decide on nectar or thievery at that point in time. which ever pulls me in... haha

We are staying at the Chicago Essex Inn in the Loop. Should be a fun train ride home each night We're also hitting up the STS9 and New Mastersounds late nights.

Instead of wristbands for the Groupon holders, they are in fact giving out three one day passes. I suspect a lot of scalpers on craigslist within the next day.
Also, the field where Gogol/Bassnectar is playing looks awesome. They will play about 200 feet apart. Wouldn't it be cool if Gogol closed with Immigrada and Bassnectar opened with it. Except it was them playing against each other.
The third annual North Coast Music Festival runs Labor Day Weekend (August 31st – September 2nd) at Chicago’s Union Park. Today, the lineup’s first phase was revealed and it’s highlighted by Pretty Lights, Big Boi, Dan Deacon, The Rapture, Atmosphere, YACHT, and King Khan and the Shrines.
Also playing are Excision, Axwell, Felix da Housecat, Steve Aoki, Alesso, Modestep, Rebirth Brass Band, Com Truise, Van Ghost, Mord Fustang, and Maya Jane Coles.
For the next 24 hours, half-priced three-day passes ($62) will be available to purchase through Groupon. Afterward, regularly priced three-day ($110) and VIP ($350) passes will go on sale via ClubTix.

I got the Groupon last night. I think the line up so far is kind of meh, but it is only the first wave.
Hopefully I won't have to work every day at 5am like I did last year. Seeing Gogol > Bassnectar then sneaking into the sold out Gogol DJ set after show didn't fair well the next morning. Best case scenario, Im going to a three day music fest for $62, worst case, I sell the ticket and make some skrilla.
I had a great time last year but the no in and outs is really dumb. I understand its the neighborhood and all that but it dampers me wanting to go in early.
