The fourth year of 80-35 in downtown Des Moines is looking decent for releasing less than half of the lineup. July 2nd and 3rd and always a lot of fun. A few of the acts so far are

wanted to post my thoughts separate. Im not a huge fan of the DJ headliner on a music fest that is more indy band based. It will be the first year a DJ has the headliner slot and will even play the mainstage. I guess they are testing the water and hoping to draw big for a dance party. It just might work too. Another problem with this is I believe they shut down around 11 or 12. Its going to be a big buzz kill to have the music stop before 2
excited about Edward, Grace, Galactic, and Bear Hands.
All in all its not a bad fest. Cheap tickets (Advance – $125 VIP, $45 Two-Day, $35 One-Day) you cant beat that., beer is like $5 per. The Mainstage area is the only place you have to have a ticket to get in, so there are free stages all around the main stage area. Its in a park right downtown and makes for a pretty cool environment. just sucks leaving before midnight.
hoping the rest of the lineup doesnt let down, if they keep a steady pace like this it should be a winner for sure.
I would love to go to this but my friends and I already have plans to see Grace Potter, Cee Lo Green, Los Lonely Boys and Ben Harper at Saturday in the Park in Sioux City, IA on July 2. It's free and it's closer to us. Someday I'll get to the 80/35 festival. I've heard good things about it.

Umphreys play friday night at Simon Estes on the river. so with umphreys and 80 35 it should be a great weekend in des moines! all this music for $80 you cant beat that.
