According to the leaked comedy lineup we'll be getting the guys from the FX comedy series The League performing stand up at the festival. This is great because everyone on the show is hilarious and i've enjoyed a lot of the guys stand up as well.

We watched the Nick Kroll comedy special on Comedy Central. It was really funny when he was actually doing standup, but something like 75% of the show was him doing characters, and most of that was not very funny at all. That said, when he opened for David Cross in '07 as Febreze Febreze, I laughed my ass off. Also, I think The League is hilarious. I would totally go see this if I was gonna be there this year.

The character stuff is hit or miss. I love them but they were used a LOT on the comedy central show. It makes sense because it's how he kinda started getting noticed but still wished it was more standup. Fabrice can get annoying at times and I love bobby bottleservice but he was on too much as well.
I love the show and Im a big Paul Scheer fan but Nick Krolls stand up gets on my nerves. When Kroll opened for David Cross in 07 i remember him not getting many laughs, then Cross came out and said give Nick Kroll a hand he is here with the Make A Wish Foundation, we are making dreams come true.

Everyone bombs occasionally. And the Roo crowd can be pretty unforgiving sometimes. I saw Nick Kroll around that time as well in NYC and he was doing the stand up part of an Upright Citizens Brigade show. I thought he wasn't very funny at all and had a lot of jokes about being jewish and going to camp.
Then he started appearing more on Reno 911 and making me laugh. Then I saw his videos as bobby bottleservice on Funnyordie and he made me laugh. Fabirce Fabrice and his bonnaroo videos cracked me up.
His latest standup special on Comedy Central impressed me (mostly the stand up portion) so i'm happy to see him back.
I couldnt make it past the first 10-15 minutes of the comedy special, i wasnt into it at all. He is really good on the League and on Childrens Hospital as well

Yes! He was hilarious on childrens hospital.
That's understandable about the show....it was very strange seeing so much character work.
You guys are discussing Kroll too much, and not realizing how awesome it is that JON LAJOIE will be there. Funniest dude I've ever heard. I love this show, insanely psyched for this. #1 comedy act I must see, behind Rollins and Waters.
Will the chick be there? The wife that plays the fantasy league as well? I don't know her name, but she's hilarious too.

Lajoie is amazing and I was so happy to see him land a gig on a t.v. show like The League.

Nah, it's only going to be the four guys in the video at the top. Or at least....that's how it's advertised and they're the ones who did live shows like this elsewhere. I'm sure it's always possible the wife on the show comes by but I don't think it will happen.

I really like Paul Scheer and Jon Lajoie but I hate The League. After rumors of Coachella getting It's Always Sunny, this announcement kinda disappoints.

Just because these guys are from the show the League doesn't really mean you need to like the show in order to enjoy their standup. They will each do their own little set which won't really have anything to do with the show.
^word, true that. I was being a negative nancy earlier.
Not a problem.....just didn't want anyone getting the wrong impression that this show will be like their show on FX. It's just going to be 4 different stand up acts.

Not completely sure what I would see by going to this.. Will be on stage at the same time interacting?

I assume there would be some moments where they are on stage together but not really a ton of interacting. Usually the shows at the comedy tent at Roo are just one person introducing a few other comedian's sets. I think that these guys will likely just each get 15-20 minutes and take turns doing their own stand up.

That makes the most sense. I'm still trying to figure out which comedian i want to see. I'd like to see one. Its between this, eugene mirman, and donald glover.
