and immediately recognize my beloved Ferris Wheel and get all excited... pretty funny article, and an experience almost identical to one of my own... (sorry to all you lovers of this particular fashion trend)
I swear by crocs, and like birks in easy terrain, but all the dust was making my feet dry and cut up, so I was switching between chuck taylors and hiking boots.
I hate hate hate the shoes and wrote an article a couple months ago about how much I hate hate hate them... but caved in for Bonnaroo.
As I did when I finally caved with Birks, I bought them in purple. As with the Birks, they have gotten little wearing except for special events. I pimped the HECK out of the Crocs at Bonnaroo and was such a happy camper! I hosed them down and then Gold Bonded them each night and spent the next day with dirty, yet happy feet. My feet didn't hurt until Monday morning.
my husband wore Chacos and he found them tres comfy, but wished he had the Crocs for the toe protection in crowds and the sun protection as well.
i switched from crocs to chacos and never had a problem. There awesome for mud. I totally luv my crocs, even more now that i bought the "turbo straps", basically there adjustable straps so you can tighten them if nessesary.

Crocs (like myself) aren't about "style" in ANY way. They are all about comfort, pure and simple. I don't care if what I wrap around my foot is ugly. Especially at something like Bonnaroo. Comfort is not a trend, in my opinion.

I love how a lot of people I know see me sporting my bright orange crocs and say to me "I don't picture you being someone to wear crocs..." I just always chuckle and say "why, do I look like I have sore feet?"

I always call crocks "wiffle shoes." they remind me of the episode of MST3K where Joel and the bots invent a whole host of wiffle items. Wiffle cup, wiffle shoehorn. wiffle Claude Aiken. Wiffle!
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
