So once again for the 3rd time plans fell through with the RV. I am sooooooo tired of this and was wondering if anyone out there could help me out. Im a light packer and I dont snore. I wouldnt consider myself bitchy and I like to meet new people. I can chip in for gas and what not. Im starting to get a little desperate but I'm trying to hold off that NYCroo bus as a LAST resort. So..?
Have you looked in to flights? I feel like people often skip over that option, but it's cheap, you get there quick, and you know it's safe. You can't necessarily bring a ton of stuff with you, but you can't do that if you're packing a car with 4 other people, either. Highly recommend looking into the prices for flight from your area. You can even meet other Inforoo people down there at the airport, grab the shuttle together, combine resources, etc.
Not sure if this was directed to me or the OP but I've looked at a few flights and haven't found a great price range. I don't know too much about booking flights, though, so may need more research. It's something I'd consider but I have to figure out how to get from the airport. Wonder if the shuttle drops us and makes us walk or if they can drive right up to the entrance gate.
Agreed flying in really is a great option. Especially with gas prices still on the rise you will probably save a decent amount of money. Also its not that hard to fit a backpacking tent, sleeping bag, and all the other stuff you need into one bag. Obviously it makes stuff like a chair and EZ-up impossible but those are all luxuries.
Edit: to ITM the official shuttle drops you off on the far side on VIP which you have to walk around to get to Tent-only. I would say about a 15 min walk with carrying your stuff.

Thanks...that's not too bad. I was worried it would be like they drop you at the end of the car line on the road and you have to walk the whole way. I wouldn't mind making the one journey from VIP section.
Also just a quick search with Southwest Airlines is showing you can get a round trip from either Newark or LaGuardia from around 220-300 depending on which flight you want and with Southwest you get two free check-in bags which normally cost $25 each on other airlines.

Damn, the shuttle only operates on Thursday, Friday, and Monday. If I take that route then I'll have to miss out on some Wednesday night campsite hangouts.....definitely looking at it though.

220-300 is MUCH better than some prices i've been finding (400+ in some places). I'll definitely be looking into that.

I've considered flights, but the only problem with me flying down alone is that I want to be with a group of experienced people, or even just one. Ive never been to Bonnaroo before and, quite honestly, Im afraid. My RV plans fell through 3 times with friends - who all are closer to my ex than with me - after a break up. Im just looking for a safe, fun trip with some laid back people and good vibes. Im not exactly sure if camping is something I'd be able to do alone. Id prefer to be on an RV, at least for my first time, to scope out what's what and determine if I would be able to camp in a tent w/o dieing of heat exhaustion the next time I plan to go.

Don't let going alone affect your decision Bonnaroo is amazing no matter how many or how few people you go with. I personally know that going alone for your first festival is extremely intimidating; I went alone my first year when I was 18. It is the best decision I ever made.
What you should do is fly out and take the shuttle to the farm. Camp at Camp Inforoo in Tent-only with all the wonderful people who use this site (as mean as some people may seem on here let me promise you we are all really nice in person). The fine folks of Camp Inforoo will keep an eye on your stuff and will be happy to share a spot under the EZ-ups to relax in.
Another thing to remember is that the Cinema Tent is open 24 hours a day and is air conditioned. If you ever feel like you are over-heating grab some water and sit in there for a bit and you will feel better in no time.
