Hey my friend and I are driving out from San Francisco (both already have our tickets). We need 2 more people in the car to make it cheaper for gas. I can fit 3 more people but 2 would be more comfortable its a forester with a bin on top. I have enough room for your gear. Its 2,500 miles each way so gas will be around 900-100 total.. Between 4 people that would be around 250 each.
Id be willing to pick up in Tahoe, Reno, Salt Lake, or Denver. No further than denver as I dont have enough money for gas on my own!
I'm just amazed at your dedication to make it to Roo. That is a really long drive. Good luck and have a great time for sure. My friend is coming from Santa Rosa, but he is flying out from San Fran to St. Louis where I'm picking him up. I couldn't convince him to drive.

Hey man, I am down in San Jose and am looking for some people to ride out with. The only problem is I am going to be doing clean vibes post show clean up, so I would need to be there two extra days.
yea i agree it would be easier and quicker to fly...but flights i just looked at are around 350-430 roundtrip from oakland/san jose/sfo... and its gonna cost me at least $70 more to check 2 bags (depending on the airline 25 for the 1st and 35-50 for the second unless its southwest, which i looked and their flights are waaay more money right now)... so id be able to bring a few clothes and my camp stove and tent but then i have all my tarps and sun shades, lawn chairs, coolers... so basically i would have to end up buying everything out there which would be around another $200 at least...
so really it would not be any cheaper to fly out. unless we start counting time that i take off from work and am not getting paid, but then again I work at a ski resort and only make 8.25/hr as it is..
i flew out to rothbury in 2009 from tucson (i went to u of A).. i was so under prepared and it was still sick but i wish i had all my gear with me it would have made things so much better out there!
