Just got back from SOTSMP! AMAZING!!! Blackwater was beautiful and magical and Bear Creek is going to be the same. I am going to set up(I think Kenny Powers or Laggy can attest for my set up)
I can definitely attest. Amazing set-up. So damn cool!
^Thanks Laggy, Now 'Short-cut' camp is going to be good. I have some visual stimulation plans (night and day) I am working on and it should be something special.
On another note, Bear Creek looks to be another 4-day Music Festival, with a pre-party on Wednesday. ;D
^PJ, I agree SOSMP rocks! BC is gonna be so good! Stop by and say hello. Will be camped at "Short-Cut Camp". If you leave the exit by the Ampitheater, take your first left and stay to the left. you will see some lights in the trees and then you will see the 'short-cut'.
^Not sure where the MM were camped, but for Magfest I was on the road that actually goes behind the Amphitheater and comes out behind the general store and music hall. If you leave the Amphitheater exit/gate and make your first left, stay to the left, red and white string lights in the trees on your left, come to an intersection, make a left, now you are heading behind the Amphitheater and towards the Music Hall area. Around the first corner, I had a 25 foot long Quonset hut, lit up gray tube that covered the bed of my truck and my tent. I had some green lasers on top, that shined into the trees, until someone asshole stole them on Saturday night. This camping spot or close to it, will be where 'short-cut' camp ends or starts. Back, closer to the gate/exit, just past the red-and-white-string-lights-in-the-trees, which are on your left,( bath house and swing set would be on your right) is where I plan to camp for BC and is also where I camped for Blackwater. That will be the Start of 'short-cut' camp. There is a natural trail, well not natural, but a trail that connects these camping spots, well connects the roads at these spots. I have camped next to this 'trail' the past two fest and have seen a lot of people use this 'short-cut' and I have seen a lot of people stumble through the night trying to find it. This camp will make sure everyone knows where the trail is, I mean 'Short-Cut'. so, especially if your face is melting off, you might want to stop by, I plan to make this trail very visually stimulating.

Hello Inforoo! I've only been on here a couple of times in the last several months, since I spend all my time on Facebook now. But I just dropped by to say that I finally got my volunteer acceptance email for Bear Creek tonight, so I'll be back for my 5th Bear Creek. ;D
It was a year ago, at the Bear Creek '10 that I met Scrog in person for the first time and shared a camp with him and got introduced to the Monkey Hut. I've been briefed on the plan for this year's camp and I can assure you that this will be The Place To Be at SOTSMP in two weeks. I'm really excited to be going back for the first time since last Bear Creek. Next year, I hope to be there for several fests, starting with SpringFest, then Blackwater, MagFest, and another Bear Creek, as well as, hopefully Wanee. See y'all in less than two weeks! ;D
Caddy, I will see you late night! I just signed up on the Wanee boards, like just before I came on here and made this post. Did you read about the QH on the Wanee boards or are here?

I just paid my deposit for Bear Creek, so I am now OFFICIALLY in. 9 more nights at home, then at least 5 nights at SOTSMP. I can't wait to get back to one of my favorite places in the world. I'm gonna try not to ever stay away this long again. ;D

I entered a couple contests for free tickets. I tend to have REALLY good look with this type of stuff. (No joke, in the past year I've probably won 7-8 concert ticket contests) There's one in particular I'm feeling pretty confident on. Entries are public and so far as I can tell only one other person followed directions and entered correctly, and there's only one more day left til the end of the contest. If I win, I'll def be there. Wish me luck.
I plan on arriving before Noon on Wednesday land grabbing a lot of space, hoping this spot is not taken by the time I get there, if anybody wants a spot close to the bathhouse, let me know.
I didn't think I was going to be able to make it, but now it looks like it's a possibility again. I should find out tomorrow if I can get off work. If so, I'll either be there late Thursday or sometime Friday.
Trey was great. Lettuce was awesome, especially their Saturday night set on the Porch Stage. The videos projected in the trees were really cool. I LOVE the New Mastersounds.
Scrog's undersea adventure was a lot of fun! Well done, sir. Well done.
WOW! What a great weekend! Many, Many, Many high lights! The trail was a big hit, video to come, (having computer issues), the music was amazing, great camp mates, and many beautiful, good people!
When I was at Blackwater 2011, I camped close to the exit/gate by the Amphitheater. I was the first 'primitive' camping spot, just past the 'water and electric' spots. This spot was close to the bath house, (where if you time it right, you get a hot shower) and next to the camp with the red and white string lights in the trees. I was also camping in, around, and next to a natural trail through the woods. People all week used my Monkey Hut as a marker to turn Left into the woods and onto this makeshift trail. During the day people were all good, but at night, it was dark, walk straight and you will come out on 'that' road. In this setting, under these circumstances, most people did not walk straight. I was camped on the 'other' road and I noticed at night, at a festival, and being tired from jamming to funky music all day, will and can impair ones judgement, in turn leading people off the trail and into the dark yonder, lost, "I can not see!" "Where is that road!" "I think we are in someones camp." "Fuck!" "Why did I take two!" "Watch out for the spiders" "I am so glad I took two!" Were some phrases spoken by the ones that found themselves off the trail and lost in the night. I decided for Bear Creek, I would make this 'Trail' a short-cut, and it would be lit up at night. It would be visual stimulating during the day and at night. Not only would this be a Short-Cut Trail, it would be a short-cut that one would go out of their away to use.

An out for people to express themselves, with spray paint.
LED lanterns from the Dollar Tree make nice bubbles and light up the trail at night.
They say it is the little things, the details, that count.
Raked leaves into pile, then covered them with a nice, soft blanket(that happens to be a gift from two girls at Blackwater, they laid under the lasers for hours on Friday night on their blanket), serves as a soft, comfy place to lay down and enjoy the night time show. Or sit on the bench.
Going from 2D to 3D.
We were all happy fish that weekend!
He/She has been found!
I had to redirect the trail some, it actually made the trail better, but this took me through some vines. A twist here and a wrap there and these vines became a natural element that help define the trail. I noticed people added pine cones, then empty liquor bottles and Mardi Gras beads.
On this end of the trail, all the trees had an LED tea cup candle attached to them and the trail was roped off with glow in the dark rope.
The exit on the other side. These tapestries are from our neighbor, Vince, he did the pine cones on the vines, and also had some sweet green lasers on the other end of the trial, which served a nice marker at night time.
The Mobile at night. Pictures do night time no justice, so I took none. You had to be there to see it. Okay I forgot. ;D
At night underwater in the woods.
