A couple of aluminum cans some rubbing alcohol and wala a cheap pressurized stove that will boil water etc. to say easily make instant coffee or fry up some hot dogs etc. If you get clever like me you can straight do some 007 shit. Say you ar epacking the aluminum can thing into Centeroo. Then also get some alcohol hand sanitizer for "hygeine". Then you are also bringing in a stainless steel water bottle. When you get into Centeroo you can put the alcohol in the can use the water bottle as a cookpot. Boil some water in it and then eat one of those dehydrated backpacking meals and the Mountain house ones available at Wal-Mart are fire especially the Chicken Teriyaki.

Love it. This is my plan, too. I've got one of those tiny fondue pots that you are supposed to use a candle to heat chocolate and cheese that I found at a thrift store for a couple of bucks. It sits on this little metal frame that I plan to use to put over the can stove to hold whatever I'm cooking above the flame. And justbin case I want to heat something up in a can to save cleaning dishes I rigged up a couple of horizontal bars for it to rest on across the center circle out of coathangers. Why oh why would you spend more and have something bulkier?

The ol hobo stove eh? I've seen people talk about these for ultra light hikers and always wanted to try it... This looks like a great cheap and light solution for a stove. Time to make one for rooo! good post
