Can anyone recommend or point me in the right direction towards a decent waterproof rain jacket. Nothing too bulky and something that is lightweight and won't make me feel like I'm in a sauna. Preferably under $60 bucks if possible.
I've never sprung for one of the pricey (see: breathable) rain jackets, only because I don't have any regular need for one. For fests, I usually opt for the ponchos. That said, I picked up this one recently...
When I got it, though, it was a close out green one for less than half the current price. It has done well in the shower test and a light rain shower recently.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I got a decent, breathable rain jacket from Walmart a few years ago for under $20. It has lasted me through 4 years of field work and is still going strong.
But, for a fest, I just bring a bunch of those $2 ponchos from the camping section at Walmart/Target. They're easy to throw in a bag just in case, and cheap enough to carry a few extras and possibly make some unprepared stranger's day. Plus you can just throw them away after so you don't have to worry about drying it.
