Just thought to start the thread since we all will be burning a quality amount of gasoline there and back.
If you are coming from anywhere in the Northeast, New Jersey will have the cheapest gas (at least until VA, where for some reason it varies from really cheap to really expensive).
If you're coming from the south, gas up BEFORE you get just south of atlanta. Anything north of Fayette/Henry County is going to be at least 15 cents more.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please keep in mind, even if you save 20 cents per gallon, you aren't saving that much money. Assuming you buy exactly 20 gallons of gas and save exactly $0.20 per gallon, that is only 4 bucks, which will bearly buy one gallon of gas.
I only say this because my air head sister has run out of gas 6 times in 2 years, because she was "trying to get to a gas station with cheaper gas". If you need gas, buy gas, do not play the waiting game. A tow truck, or road side fill up, will cost much more than your potential savings.
And whatever you do, top your tank off shortly before piling into the entry lines.
whats the closest gas station to the farm? from what ive heard even with a full tank, after waiting in lines for 6 hours to get in you will put a nice dent in a full tank... then four days of turning the car on to charge cell phones/ enjoy a few minutes of AC etc will end up leaving you out of gas. I was thinking of filling up as close to the farm as possible and even bringing a little 2 or 3 gallon gas jug to bring in just incase i run out or sell to someone else who does run out..

I have always filled the tank up all the way about 30 minutes north of the 'roo lines. Never had a problem. The most gas I used waiting in line was last year. We burned a quarter tank, but we also had a big Dodge pick up as opposed to a CRV. The gas stations right off the exit by roo are always packed, and if I am not mistaken run out of gas, but I could be wrong.

They are pretty close just fill up before you get in line and you will be fine....you dont run your car as much as you think once inside, and even if you are getting close to empty leaving monday morning goes fast and gas is right down the road...Hope this helps.
I filled up for $3.81/gallon yesterday. We haven't driven our car that requires premium fuel in 2 months, because of the price, last time I looked it was around 4 bucks.

Yes and on top of that don't drive out of your way for cheaper gas. It isn't worth the time or money to get there. I know someone who will literally drive across town for gas that is only a couple cents cheaper. When you figure out how much you saved it normally doesn't even make up for the gas burned to get there and back.
If I recall correctly gas prices were horrible in 2010 around Roo, too. I always plan on spending a crazy amount of cash on the drive. Fill your car up with people!!! Every year I go in a full car and everyone pays for 2 fill ups round trip. It's not so bad. It doesn't make much different what the gas prices are at the time, if you are driving to Roo you should be expecting to drop a lot of cash in travel.

I just ran my trip from Clarksville to Manchester and as of right now, its only gonna run me roughly 50 bucks round trip and I'm in an SUV...granted my carbon footprint thing made me kinda sadface at a whopping 317lbs....
If you tell yourself that it's ok to get whatever's closest and pay more every single time you get gas, that adds up down the line... *shrug* It sucks filling up only to drive down the highway and 10 minutes later find out it's a ton cheaper. *shrug*
