We arrived around noon or 1:00 on Thursday and took Bushy Branch. Only waited a few minutes in line, had really cool people check our van and we were put in Camp Allison Reynolds near Pod 8. Not a bad walk to Centeroo at all
So how'd it go for everyone this year? tons better? I worked the tollbooths and sounded like there was like 30 minute max wait, but not sure if that was all tolls and all times. What's the longest people waited in line this year?

Yeah, I don't know what they did different, but the wait times were crazy short. I didn't talk to anyone who waited more than an hour, and I talked to several people who drove straight up to the tollbooth with no wait.
I had about a 10 minute wait to get to camp after passing through tollbooths. Took longer to leave (20 minutes) than it did to get in. I scored a super sweet camping spot, pod 8 Principal Vernon entering at ~10:00 AM Thursday.

We arrived at noon on Thursday. Didn't take long to get in and lucked out with an awesome spot! Axel Foley, it was supposed to be an RV area but we were put there! Portapotties at one corner, a minutes walk away (not too close to suffer the smell but very close) and we had ice on the other corner. Easy out when it started to rain Sunday night too!
It was our first year and I hope we're this lucky every year!

Early "gate crashers" get penalized to BFE so it's not a good idea to be first in line. The last couple of years they have opened the gates much earlier than 7 pm Wednesday and this year it was probably 3:45 or so. We got in at 4:00 and was sent straight to the back left corner of the BFE concentration camp where you can't leave until the next morning. Bad for us since we had 6 in one car with tent only as our destination. We got to tent only early the next morning only to find it filled up ! We had to setup our 5 tents in a straight line down a walking path through tent only which sloped on both sides, making for some interesting sleeping angles and forcing neighbors to trip over tent cords, etc. trying to walk out of there. So if you're going the tent only route, arrive a few hours later after BFE has already filled up. My guess is that it would take about 3 hours for BFE to fill up. Our experience has us all thinking VIP for next year if only I can keep my hands out of the change jar !
This year will be my first year flying into Nashville and taking the shuttle to Bonnaroo. Could anyone who is familiar with these shuttles let me know the earliest I could catch a shuttle back to the airport on the Monday after Roo?
Haven't had to deal with the worries of getting in or where we'll be camped since 2007 due to volunteering so I have a question since it's been awhile:
We'll be arriving late afternoon Thursday because of work conflicts, probably anywhere from 2:00-4:00. Just wondering how the line getting in will be and if we'll be put WAAAYYY far away from Centeroo.

That's around the time I typically roll in. For the past two years since they have officially opened the campgrounds on Wednesday night, I have experienced essentially no line coming in at that time. Although Centeroo is now a clustercuss on Thursdays due to this, it has vastly improved getting into the festival. I cannot guarantee it will be as easy this year, but I have no reason to think otherwise.
EDIT: As for campground placement, it is still a crapshoot. I had a great spot in 2012, and a terrible spot in 2011. I came in the back entrance in 2011 and basically had to park to camp as soon as I went in the entrace, so I would recommend against that.

2011 we arrived around then with about an hour of traffic, decent camp spot. Last year at the time frame was flawless. I don't think we stopped until the actual tollbooth. On top of that got a good camp spot in the Star Wars section. Will probably be doing the same this year.

I've never arrived that late but I would suspect that you'll encounter minimal wait time and be very far from Centeroo. The good news is that for a few bucks you can take a golf cart taxi in.
I really could care less if we wait 5 hours or 30 minutes to get in. I'm more worried about having a long walk to Centeroo, but I know where you camp is always a toss up. We'll be arriving late cause of my bf's work schedule, so I told him if we're in BFE, he's buying the taxi rides!!
first time rooer here again. i wont arrive into manchester until 8-10 pm thurs night (hopefully) due to the army life. any idea how long the wait will be to get in and if i will have to cross state lines to make it to see some performances? ie how long will my walk be for centeroo? hope i dont screw myself by getting there too late on thurs nite and miss a lot of stuff.

Your wait time to get in should be minimal. There's no predicting where you'll be camped though. Worst comes to worst, avail yourself to the golfcart taxi services.
you think midday thurs would be better than thurs night though? all things considered? I know randomness is the largest factor here but based on past experiences, and other posters, you think if I got in like between 2-6pm would be an advantage rather than the night time?

I have only ever arrived at a range of about 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, and my camping placement has been all over the map. Given the randomness, my only advice based on experience is to not enter through the back entrance.
2012 we arrived at the I-24 toll booth shortly after 3am Thursday morning - we were the third vehicle in line. Had a nice walk-on inspection by two gentlemen that simply involved showing them our plastic liquor bottles and food stores in the cabinets. Offered them a couple Red Bulls, chatted them up, they took a quick peek into the outside storage bins of the RV, then they gave us our wrist bands.
From toll booth to pulling out the awning on the RV at our parking spot, all told about 35 minutes.
Just remember, go with the flow....we were in live four hours on 2010. You just never know!
Do most people leave Monday? Looking at pictures it seems like if your car is in the middle of a camping plot there's no way to move it until the neighbors closest to the road leave. If you had to leave Sunday this seems like a problem.

It seems most people leave Sunday night and super early Monday. It's not usually difficult to leave Sunday especially if you wait until the headliner. Last year, they parked cars with fire lanes in between which seemingly made it super easy for anyone to get out.

A fair amount of people leave Sunday. They put a lot of "fire lanes" in so getting out on Sunday really shouldn't be a problem. You might have to get a neighbor or two to move a tent or a car to help, but if you're nice and give them a heads up early in the weekend you should be fine.

First time Roo'er here coming from CT. Does anyone have recent experience taking 55 into Manchester as opposed to I-24? I'd be going out of my way to get onto 24 but will if that means better camping and less reroutes.

So I'm actually not camping but staying in a hotel, and will be utilising day parking. How exactly does this work, where is it on the grounds, and so forth. I haven't found much info thus far.

It's in the upper left hand corner. Basically, you drive in through the nearest toll booth when you want to come in and exit the same way when you are ready to head back. Expect to get searched every time you come in. If I remember correctly, Thursday is an absolute beast of a day both coming in and leaving due to so many people heading in for camping. LD has used it before, so he might be a good person to ask for more details.
Last year was my first 'roo and following the advice on the official website my friends and I believed that the earlier we got there the better spot we would have. Now almost every post i've read on here says that if you get to the gate early Wednesday you will be in BFE. This was not the case for us, we waited in line at the east tollbooth for roughly 45 minutes to an hour and we were let in around 4:00pm Wednesday afternoon. We got the Peggy Olson campsite in POD 2 which was awesome and surrounded by trees. I plan on doing the same thing this year as we did last year.....hopefully I will get the same luck because from what I've read we got lucky. I am struggling to remember if the campsites in BFE were filled up before we got our spots because at that time (being my first roo) I was bewildered with the sights all around me.
