I posted this in the Other Tent, but i figured i'd post it here as well seeing as how more people go to this board and because its just that darn interesting.
"KINE bud" is actually the correct terminology, or (so I do not dictate your vocabulary) the original terminology of the phrase we've all come to love. It is of Hawiian origin and means "excellent" in its original form. As the term migrated to the US in the 60s hippies mistook it as being said "kind bud" and has been called such ever since.....
*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I knew that, my wife is Hawaiian. Way back in the day when we first met, the first time I said "kind" she laughed at me, called me a howlly and then straightened me out.
I thought everyone knew it was "kine" and that I was the only D-A.
