My friends and I got tired of driving through the night and arriving at the festival already one nights sleep in the hole so we broke down and got a hotel room in Chattanooga for Wednesday night. Can anyone recommend some good bars, restaurants, or attractions we could check out in Chattanooga?

Holls? Paying Holls...
She took us to some great restaurants and bars. Definitely try the Urban Stack... burger joint with interesting combos. They serve like 43 different Bourbons if that's your thing.
I live here and have never even heard of Urban Stacks! Sounds like I need to check it out!!
Downtown is one of my favorite areas.. there's Coolidge Park, the aquarium, the walking bridge, cute little shops.. lots of bars... Taco Mac has a ton of different beers with your typical bar food. Big River Grill brews their own beer and has a larger food selection. Raw Bar is a sushi place with drinks.. The Big Chill is another great bar. Can't really go wrong downtown.
There's a cool upstairs pool hall right next to Miller Plaza that's called the "Chattanooga Billiards Club," or CBC for short. Very laid-back place, smoker friendly, serves pitchers and good bar food, has coin-op tables, and so on. One of my favorite places to hang out downtown.

We're staying at the hampton inn (downtown lookout location), which looks to be right in the middle of things. Is downtown pretty walkable? is there a particular street to check out thats good for bar hopping? Here in Raleigh we have Glenwood ave which is where most of the college kids my age go to bar hop.

Awesome! I play pool 1-2 nights a week so we just mind wind up there.

Yeah, it's pretty walkable... looks like it's about a two mile walk to Broad Street & Market Street, which is where all the fun happens. If you drive there is lots of paid parking spots, meters, or you can park at Unum for free which is a block over from Broad street.. that's where we usually park.
CBC and Sing It or Wing It are also great suggestions.. really fun places.
Hey, last year when I was in Chattanooga on Wednesday I took advantage of the free downtown trolley. It was a great way to get around and the driver shouted out some sights along the way.
The Walnut Street Bridge is a great walk and view of the river and city. And there are some nice shops, drinks, etc. . . on the north shore.
First, thanks for making this thread- each year en route to Roo my group stays over Wednesday night in Chattanooga (the downtown Motel 6) and we've never really explored the city outside of visiting the Eckered.
With that said... seeing the restaurant menu and drink menu (especially being they have Yazoo on tap) at urban stack, we will most certainly be going there!
Having worked ems in chattanooga, you cant go wrong with the places mentioned, its a beautiful city to stop by, just stay away from glenwood ave there.

If you're a baseball fan, maybe check at a Chattanooga Lookouts game. Minor league games are actually more fun than you'd think, and they're usually like 5 bucks a ticket or something really cheap.
And here is a Hostel in Chattanooga if anyone needs a place to stay. . . www.crashpadchattanooga.com/ Hope this helps someone
Hey y'all...just an FYI: the Crash Pad isn't open yet. My friend Dan owns it & they're shooting for grand opening just after 'Roo.
But the Honest Pint and Urban Stack are both open and amazing! You can't go wrong with our downtown pub Hair of the Dog (4th @ Market) - great brew selection and burgers. But I think the best beer is at The Terminal Brewhouse - local microbrewery beside the Chatt. Choo Choo. It's in walking distance from Urban Stack, if that helps sway you!
I'm a local and native 'Nooganite, so lemme know if you need more suggestions or a couch to crash on!
