Phooey!! I just read this from the Bonnaroo site:
If you are bringing a portable generator to have power at your campsite, it must be 1.5KW or less.
I have a Honda 3000is generator and just looked at it; it's 3KW. It's the quietest generator that can be bought. What do I do? Can I try to bring it or do you think they'll turn us away. I don't want to break rules, but this is the only generator that will power our Pop Up's A/C (not to mention the only generator we HAVE).

Nevermind, I think I found the answer. If it takes a larger generator to power the RV, then a larger one is allowed. So....it does take a 3KW generator to power our pop up. Thank goodness!!
Not that I think you will have a problem ... but you better re-read the policy...
GENERATOR POLICY: If you are bringing a portable generator to have power at your campsite, it must be 1.5KW or less. If you are coming in an RV and the generator installed in the RV is larger than this that is fine. The size regulation only applies to portable generators not attached to an RV.
It says if the generator is "installed" that is fine.
Note: we have gone five previous times with our Honda EU3000is and never had a issue.
I think if I were to bring a portable again, I would remove the stickers on the generator and have a quick answer when asked on what size it is. "Well it's a 1.5KW !!
Or stop by the honda dealer and order some Honda EU1000is stickers.

Hey guys, sorry about the confusion. I'm here to set the record straight and hopefully make everyone a lot happier.
If your RV comes with or uses a generator larger than 1.5KW to power the unit, this is fine. They will be allowed. If you're in the general camping grounds (in other words, not in an RV campground) and want to use a generator, they must be less than 1.5KW.
This is not a new policy. This info has always been on the website under the RV section of the ticketing page. We apologize again for any miscommunication or confusion that this has caused, and we look forward to another great year on the farm.

Thank goodness! I had a momentary panic attack. We need a 3KW generator to run our A/C, so it is necessary. I will be totally devastated if someone at the gate makes a fuss. I'll just have to quote Gary, huh?
Most people at most gates do not make a fuss about too much. I'm sure you can convince them that "your generator complies with all safety guidelines as outlined by Bonnaroo" and they'll just let you go. These people are volunteers and pretty easy going. They're you.
