Being spared a year off from Jack Johnson (shoes/slot filled by G.Love) and with it being a given that Primus sucks infinitely, I'll go with the safe bet of Neon Trees rrrreally blowing. I won't walk with-in one one earshot of that god-awful set.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself
Encore: -Ball and Biscuit -Seven Nation Army -Screwdriver

I've seen Neon Trees before, they opened for Broken Bells at a stupid radio concert. There is absolutely no way any of the other acts will suck as much as them. At the very least, all of the listed acts have a fanbase; Neon Trees does not have a fanbase, their popular song has a fanbase. They are the worst.
i think decemberists will be a good show along with shpongle.. dont really know why they are on the list and girl talk/bassnectar will do what they always do

I didn't know The Decemberists were hated. I mean I'd get why people wouldn't like them, but I never would've thought people would think they'll have the worst set.
Neon Trees are the obvious choice, but I'll write in the Scissor Sisters. Ray and SCI are up there too, not cause they suck, but because I'd fall asleep to both.

well i've seen robyn and scissor sisters within the past two months and the only way you will say their show sucks is if you don't like that kind of music. both put on awesome shows and i was dancing the whole time.
Juggs, you should know, the flaming lips live = amazing. There album music is lame alot of the times, but live, they are incredible. The show is extravagant, but the music is also very will preformed. How can someone like you not like a glowing vagina giving birth to the band (via trap door in the screen)?
Juggs, I see what your saying about ppl only going for the visuals but some people arent like that.. not that you said all people are. Im gonna go see shpongle cause it something other than pretty lights, bassnectar, and girl talk.
I will say that if the visuals are great and the music is so-so it can save a show from being a complete bust. That goes for any act. IMO
My vote is for Wiz Khalifa, one of the worst rappers ever. Girls stop liking this guy. If you like your soft danceable hip-hop, you can listen to anybody else ( Kanye West, Taio Cruz, even Drake but that's pushing it) but Wiz is terrible through and through. So don't ever drag us guys to his shows with you.
And if you are a guy that likes his shit, i recommend you donate your testicles to charity cuz you won't be needing them.
This is mellow? And he has plenty of songs like this. Why knock the visuals? I quite enjoy them
I only knock the visuals because it seems like thats the primary reason people here are excited. "No, no, you don't understand, it's not just Shpongle, it's the SHPONGLETRON! Yeah, you won't believe it, he's got some scaffolding with LED displays all set up to show lights and pictures!" Some bands can get away with that (like GWAR, who perform whole weird routines in costume so its more like performance art), but when you get down to it, it's just lights. People are excited to watch lights flash.
Also, let me be clear and say that yeah, Neon Trees will probably be worse. But still, somebody had to vote for something else, right?
The stage set up is a big deal because Sphongle's music is psychedelic trance and the stage goes well with the music. It's generally a pretty fringe genre, but i think it's fuckin great and live shows are generally good with the "substance" element which I may be imbibing from 2-430 in the morning.
Other acts with this style of music would be Infected Mushroom, 1200 Micrograms, Astral Projection, and Juno Reactor off the top of my head.
So if you don't like the genre, that's a personal taste. But it's not like his music lacks substance.

Personal taste is one thing but all of those bands make more interesting music than Shpongle imo. At the point where you have to up your light show to make up for the fact that there is no new music you should start to realize you have a problem.
^^^ Dude no new music, he's got a new album coming out next year and he released an album 2 years ago.
His music stands alone imo, the light show is just an extra display of showmanship. And it's working, he got shows at festivals like BOMB fest, Wakarusa, Coachella, Electric Forest, and Bonnaroo. Damn good for the genre not that popular in the states. That shit is bigger in Europe.
Idk all that much about neon trees but I do know that I have seen Matt & Kim three times. I used to like their albums but live they are one of the worst bands I've seen.
Edit: I should clarify that I only saw them 3 times cause they were at 3 festivals that I went to. and also Neon Trees will be the worst BUT I couldnt imagine them being good live or at all. Matt & Kims awfullness surprised me.
This seems unproductive... Hopefully none of their sets suck. I'm sure someone is excited for each on of these sets. That being said, I've never heard of Robyn, Neon Trees, Or Whiz Khalifa (and I'm not sure why his name is put alongside Eminem's?). It does seem like most of you dislike this Neon trees band though. I'll have to check them out I guess, just to see for myself. Maybe I'll understand where you all are coming from once I do haha.
I'm not gonna vote in this or suggest other bands that should be listed (i.e. the big name on Saturday) but that's because I don't listen to crap. I'll only walk away from a show (not because it sucks) but because my schedule is planned to see around 50 bands and I'll have to get to the next set.

50! WOW! that's amazing. Mine is to see 28, and I doubt i could do that I usually end up seeing about 20 bands on average at festivals.
