Craziest thing that happened to you?

HAHA, at that point, i just say stuff like... "i'm 783..." and see what they say.

That was one of the more interesting things that happened over the course of our weekend.

i ended the weekend at a trauma center in chattanooga.

it was seriously surreal. i went to bonnaroo expecting it to be insane, and i was still completely surprised by the turnout...

yeah, i learned that. this year should be a lot better.

we're not exactly sure how he punctured it. we both took some doses and he went off for about 4 hours and i have no idea what he did. what we think did it was when he attacked a trash can...

so if anyone saw a confused guy attack a trash can inbetween Ben Harper and The Police, you saw my friend Wayne.

man i just read your article sinkfloridasink...crazy stuff indeed. glad your buddy wayne is ok, and i wonder what that crazy guy at the end was yelling about.

I can't take credit for this, it happened to one of my friends that was there with me. He got separated from us during the first night before the National set (we were actually about an hour early) and had probably the craziest night I've ever heard of anyone having (he took a quarter of nice shrooms at once).

It started when we were going through the arch. We all had just gotten through, and he had to take a piss, but didn't realize that there were urinals a mere hundred or so feet away, so he went back through the arch to find one. All was going well and he set back out to find us, until one of the helicopters went overhead. He said that this caused the shrooms to hit him all at once and he suddenly began going in to a crazy trip.

The first thing he remembers is stumbling through some place that he described (while still tripping) as "crack town." He said that he saw an entire marketplace consisting of grimy, witch-looking people throwing dead chickens in to cauldrons and with garlic cloves and the like adorning the shops. A sudden wave of paranoia hit in, and he hastily made his way out of the area.

By the time he remembered slowing down and not worrying about getting away from crack town anymore, he stumbled in to a tent and saw a burst of action: people running, getting tackled, etc. He was incredibly confused and half-shouted "what the f**k?" to one of the people scurrying around. The person responded by shouting at another person "what the f**k is right, this nuts is fucked up" and then got tackled by this person. It was at this time that he noticed that the people tackling everyone were police officers. My friend had walked in to a 26 pound marijuana bust that made the state news.

He does not know how he managed to get out of the scene without getting questioned or even talked to, but he did. He decided he wanted to find his way back to our camp site and began asking random people where he could find "pink floyd" (our camp site was in randall pink floyd), adding whenever someone told him pink floyd wasn't playing there "no, I live in pink floyd!" At this point he gave up trying to get back to the campsite. After wandering around some more and believing he was fucked up enough that someone was following him and trying to jack his bracelet, he ended up finding a show which we figured must have been Rodrigo y Gabriela and watched some people packing a bowl that asked him if he wanted to join them. He did, noticing that it tasted really weird, and then found out afterwards that it was topped with PCP.

The next thing he remembers is laying down as the others went up to watch the show and passing out for for a little bit (the show hadn't ended yet) and waking up drenched in sweat, freezing. He was so cold and fucked up at this point that he bagan offering people 60 dollars and two joints for a hoodie, but no one would take him up. He decided that he was again up to finding his way back to our campsite, and managed to find an information tent where he asked for directions. After about 5 minutes of walking, he was lost again and forgot the directions.

He finally had a good break though, and he offered a random person two joints and 20 dollars to help him get back. This guy was able to at long last get him back, and they smoked the joints on the way. After getting back and passing out on the ground, we all came back from David Cross five minutes after him.

The ironic thing about the entire night was that judging from his story we were pretty close to him on several occaisions during the night and we were even keeping our eyes out for him. We must have just missed him more than once.

here's how my bonnaroo 2007 went:

tool's music scared me because of the acid i was on, so i left after about 20 minutes, but i did hear the rest of their show, the worst is probably missing flaming lips and gov't mule, i've done acid around 20 times, mostly as a senior in high school and as a college freshman, i'm 26 now, this was my first time doing acid in about 7 years, so for me, there will be no more acid or shrooms, i'll just stick with weed and alcohol

Wow. beats me. I could have swore there were no drukqs at Bonnaroo.

On the first night, two guys came up to me and asked me if I had any "tweak." I of course told em no, and they talked to us for about 2 hours! One guy kept saying the most random nonsense. For instance, I would ask a question, and he would say "Yes, no, yes no, I have all the answers!"

He kept yelling "Nick at nite! Satellite!" over and over again. To this day, when I see my friend, I will yell nick at nite, and he will yell Satellite back at me.

They were nice people, just really crazy, i wish the meth heads would stay away from Bonnaroo.

At Sasha + Digweed I was standing behind a group of people and I saw/heard this pretty girl asking for a light, but no one in the group had one. Being the on-the-spot guy that I am, I pulled out my lighter and reached over the heads of these people and lit it up right in front of the girl.

She started laughing then came around and gave me the biggest hug, I think she almost picked me up (I am 6'5" and 250 pounds). She then told me I had the most beautiful eyes...and after that I was hooked. I was just transfixed by her eyes and her face, I couldn't look away. She smiled and snapped her fingers in front of my face, evidently this brought me out of the trance and then she just kind of danced away...it was so awesome.

As we crested a hill in our 7 car caravan the traffic suddenly pulled into the shoulder. Because of the hill it was impossible to see that you had to stop so quickly, I made it into the shoulder (car 6) my cousin was coming up fast (car 7) and I was convinced he was going to hit me. I braced for impact he pulled back into the lane of the highway, as he did that 2 cars in the lane screeched to a hault. One camry hit another, right next to my driver side window. I was so close my car filled with smoked from their tires, it took me about 10 seconds to realize I hadn't been the one hit. totally insane made me on edge for about the first 24 hours of roo.

I was at the Clutch concert the first night, and some red headed dude began to talk to me, I noticed his girlfriend, because she looked exactly like him.... They both had BRIGHT red hair, hers in pigtails, and his in long dreadlocks. Throughout the entire fucking show, this girl stared at me, even when I moved to get a better view of Clutch, this girls gaze followed me. Normally I would be fine with this, but I am 18 and this man and his girl looked to be about 24 or a bit older. That might not be very crazy, but I saw that girl more than I saw anyone at Bonnaroo. No matter where I went, what shows I watched, for some odd reason, there she was, the Bright red headed girl, staring me down.

the thing that will always stick out in my mind is the people i was with @ bonnaroo 2006. i mean i could not have asked for a better group of people. you know sometimes you can be really good friends with someone but that doesn't make them a good bonnaroo buddy. some of us were good friends, some of us were just acquaintances but we had a BLAST.

there was a girl in our group, lindsey, who is a whiz on the guitar. we all walked around the campsite at like 4am on saturday morning singing songs about whatever we saw. we made up an STD song, too lol. and we saw a girl coming out of the port a potties and step in some goo, and we all started singing about having the swampfoot. we were laughing, all the campers we passed were laughing...it was a really great time.

a few hours later i'm lying in the tent trying to rest for a bit and i hear a man outside doing an acoustic version of radiohead's 'paranoid android'. it sounded JUST like thom yorke. it wasn't, but in my state of mind i pretended that it was and he was singing me a lullaby to sleep. god it was amazing.
