Ive seen a couple people asking on different threads when is the best time to arrive. Apparently Wednesday is expected to be the busiest. Probably not a big surprise here.
They may be right. Its a total crap shoot at this point. My thinking though is they announced it was opening on Wednesday a little over a month ago or somthing. I already had to have my request for work in, and I know some people who already had to have their flights booked. Luckily we already had extra days padded in, but I'm seeing a bunch of people on the boards saying they are going on Thursday. I'm pumped to set up Wednesday night though and sleep in my tent and not in the my car at Walmart.
I figure local officials would have done studies and projections Etc. and have a pretty good idea what they are talking about. For me its a 10+ hour drive and I'd rather travel all day and arrive Wednesday night as opposed to traveling all night and arriving Thursday. Just hoping its not worse than normal.
Well we really need to start a thread Wednesday night. People can use their phones to post what traffic is looking like after the gates open and where they are sending the early arrivers to camp.
I am going to be driving down Wednesday evening but I am still considering getting a hotel and getting up early to head in Thursday AM. Worst case scenario is getting in line at midnight and waiting in line for 6 hours then not getting any sleep because the sun comes up a few hours later.
So is anyone planning on meeting up at walmart before hand Wednesday afternoon? I think we are going to get to walmart at like 5 pm and see what we see on the way.
flaroofan you are totally right. Hopefully they did do studies, but after the cluster last year with people showing up around 8 and not getting in until 4 or 5 pm, I'm just hoping for more organization.
