FYI, for those who aren't from TN, the liquor laws state that beer and liquor be sold in separate stores. High alcohol beer can only be sold with liquor. Luckily, FM is a giant warehouse with a liquor/high alcohol beer side and a regular beer side. You just need to make separate purchases.
Frugal Macdoogal is great for craft beer. I'm on a tight budget this year so I'll be hitting up Trader Joe's for their Simpler Times beer in a can. I want to say it's around $3.50 per 6 pack and beats the hell outta your run of the mill light and budget beers. Trader Joe's in Nashville is on Hillsboro Rd off of I-440.
check out J Barleycorn's as well. it is literally on I24 right across the street from a sams club. pretty much the exact same set up as FM's.
JB's is also near the airport and you must pass right by it on the way from there to Roo.
If your just looking for a quick stop for beer and supplies on the way to Roo Exit 78A (Franklin) has a Krogers and a couple Liquor stores right off I-24 (along with decent priced gas.) This is the best last stop if coming in from the north/west, IMHO.
Or Exit 66A (Smyrna) has a Krogers, Home depot, and Lowes about a 1/2 mile straight of I-24.

Does anyone know if Walmart or such stores sell beer in TN?
Yes, beer is sold in grocery stores and gas stations. Wine and Liquor are sold in liquor stores and cannot be purchased in grocery stores or gas stations.

Frugal Macdoogal's is a few blocks away and I am going on my lunch break tomorrow. Good prices and def a perk that the liquor store is right next to the beer store, no driving to two diff places. I'm going to be THAT employee- car loaded down with camping gear and alcohol until I escape at 3pm!
